I took time to visit the Dschang lake in the Menoua Division as Cameroonian economy has potentials unexploited and I explored the lake as an economic power and evalute what is astake. But since this place is distant away from my city, I hard to travel for some kilometres away. Early about 5 AM I woke up from bed and prepare myself.
It took me over 2 hours to arrive Dschang because of bad roads with a private car of my neighbour who was travelling to Douala. The journey was risky as ghost towns observed in the whole Anglophone towns have been affecting life within these places and we were afraid armed men could attack us but we finally went beyond Matazem where the were risks of attacks are limited, no more effective operations of arms and finally drove to the West Region.
While in Dschan, I spent the whole day exploring the lake.
Life in Cameroonian countryside in Menoua lake was really amazing and I paid a young boy of about 17 years to sail me in the banks of the lake.
I then imagine spending over 20thousands frs cfa about 40 UD dollars as a local tourist meanwile , Cameroon has over 20 landlock lakes and little or no investments have been done add value to the local economy.
This is how foreign countries do to build value in their economy.
Cameroon has been a potential market in fishing and tourism and little is done to that effect.
I took time to visit lake Dschang to see how the menoua council has improved the lack Dschang in Menoua Division of the West Region.
I saw a lake of about three kilometres that could be the size of a village settlement in western highlands of Cameroon. I noticed that several activities have not taken place but a few existed like the boats that tourisms could use and entered and explored the river. However because tourism is not common amongst the local community . These potentials required more marketing for people to start having interest in this.
Secondly, fishing has the potential to employ a good number of people in Cameroon but the local councils have not been able to invest in these indegenous economic actvities.
