Hello great people , today is a very special , special because i am alive .Yes i am alive!😀 Yes you thought i won a huge sum of money from a business deal....No! far from that i am just happy because the environment has been so kind to me. If my immediate environment is not healthy then i will live a very miserable life. But let's take a break and thing about this;

• Have you ever tried to deprived yourself of oxygen just for some seconds???
• Have you thought about what will happen to you if all trees where cut down??
• Did you know our lifespan is reduced when we live in an unhealthy environment???
• Did you know you are directly dependent on the environment???
• Did you know our waters(oceans, seas, rivers etc.) are part of the global ecosystem???
• Did you know other animals are also important as you are to the ecosystem???

Yes i know all your responds to the above reflections are positive. So what are you doing;

• To Carter for our plants ?
• To clean our waters?
• To get reed of plastics in the environment?

Now i know the question in your mind is what have i done???
OK I won't disappoint you.
On the 10th of August i took the bold step to get reed of plastic in small stream in the neighborhood in Dschang sub-division.

.It did not take me much time but i was fulfilled i did something little for my beautiful environment .This also went long way to to clear the passage foe the stream thereby minimising flooding. This may sound little but trust me if all of us could our bit then imagine how our environment will look Like..it does not matter where you are. The ecosystem is connected are we are all linked to each other.

So my people, the task is not that huge but we need to start from the mind. If all all of us could join voices and efforts just like the @thegreens, then we will make our environment a better place yo live in .

Recommendations

What can you do for the environment then??

• Get reed of plastics around you
• Protect trees that have planted already, if you must cut then replace them
• Carry out mass sensitization just as the @thegreens is doing,
• Minimizing the use of energy like putting off bulbs when not in use,
• Switching into more environmental friendly and renewable sources of energy (Solar energy, tidal energy etc.)
• Planting trees around the home,
• Practicing more sustainable forms of agriculture
• Limiting the burning of fossil fuels by practicing more of walking or cycling and also switching from fuel powered cars to electric cars etc..

These are just few things amongst others we need to do in our environment. Collectively effort is necessary here .

If we don't take care of our environment the air above us is polluted and if that happens we may expect the following short-term health effects :

• Aggravated cardiovascular and respiratory illness
• Added stress to heart and lungs, which must work harder to supply the body with oxygen
• Damaged cells in the respiratory system .

Long-term exposure to polluted air can have permanent health effects such as:

• Accelerated aging of the lungs
• Loss of lung capacity and decreased lung function,
• Development of diseases such as asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, and possibly cancer
• Shortened life span etc.

So why don't we join efforts and save our planet and ensure sustainability while protecting our most cherished lives???
