A Herbal Syrup to Fight Common Colds and Cough for Both Adults and Kids.

Steem greetings @everyone from the motherland Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share some ideas about preparing herbal syrup to fight against common colds like cough and flu.

This is the season especially for us in Cameroon with cold weather conditions early in the morning and hot afternoons and cold evening hours. Temperature during this period fluctuates. With the easterly winds blowing across with dust particles that pollute the air we breathe, thereby causing us to suffer from cough and flu.

How to prepare herbal syrup for cough and flu

This is the easiest way to prepare a cost-efficient syrup at home. Before going into the preparation process permit me to share the ingredients required for this herbal medication.

Ingredients Required.

  • 1 Limes/lemon
  • Natural Honey
  • Clean water
  • knife.
Preparation Process

Step 1: Take a limes or lemon depending on what is available in your neighbourhood. Put it in a bowl with clean water and wash well to ensure it is clean before cutting it into two slices. Remember it is essential to wash it clean to avoid contaminating the syrup with germs.

Step 2: Use your clean knife to cut the limes/lemon into two halves. This is to be sure the likes of lemon is in good condition inside and also to remove the seeds inside before squeezing.

Step 3: Use a small bowl and pour 5 tablespoons of natural honey. Make sure it is fully natural honey and no artificial added to it.

Step 4: Squeeze the limes or lemon into the honey using your fingers and squeeze. However, you might use a different means to extract the juice from the limes/lemon.

Step 5: Use a clean spoon to remove some of the seeds from the concoction and stir anti-clockwise to ensure it is properly mixed.

Your syrup is ready to be consumed morning and night for 3 days. It is very effective.

How to Store it and the Dosage

To preserve the syrup for after use, you need to keep it in the fridge for 3 days. After the 3rd day of production, you are supposed to discard it and prepare another one.

In order not to waste your resources, do not produce much at once. Estimate the quantity you know by the 3rd day your dosage is completed.

Dosage of the herbal syrup

For adults, take a tablespoon of the syrup 3 times daily for 5 days. That is a table spoon in the morning, afternoon and evening.

For kids aged 6 months to 2 years, take 5mls morning and evening for 3 days.

For children above 2 years, administer 10mls morning, afternoon and evening for 3 days.
