The Diary Game [12/11/2024] // Vaccine Routine and Shopping.

Steem greetings all the way from the motherland-Cameroon and welcome to my blog as I share my daily lifestyle with you all. Some days we wake up thinking of having an easy ride but life has its own way of unfolding.

My day started on a good footing as my son turned 1 year old yesterday. Normally, I do not throw parties for 1-year-old birthday party for my kids because I believe that they are not mature enough to handle the stress of that day.

It is a routine in my country for kids aged 1-year-old to be vaccinated and administered vitamins and dewormed them. I was supposed to take him to the vaccine routine yesterday when he turned 1 year old. Unfortunately, it was a ghost town and no movement around town. I woke up with full energy and prepared breakfast and prepared myself for the vaccine routine. We were all dressed up and left the house as early as 8:30 AM.

Morning periods after bathing are his sleeping moments and I had to deal with it this morning by carrying him sleeping for the vaccine routine.

Every Tuesdays after Monday's lockdown are hectic with lots of traffic jams and more people coming into the hospital for kids' vaccines. All vaccines are administered at the government hospitals and health centres. I could not go to the general hospital and had to take it at the government health district centre in my neighbourhood. When I arrived there, the hall was jammed full and no space for me to go inside. I had to hang outside seated in a bench waiting for my turn.

The vaccine cards were arranged according to how we came in. I waited patiently for my turn, listening carefully as the health practitioner called the names. Immediately I heard my name, I rushed in and did the needful.

It took me less than the time I thought I would spent at the hospital. I had to go to the pharmacy to buy mebendazole oral suspension to deworm my son. I took my son's vaccine card after he was administered vitamins and his weight was also monitored, I went to the pharmacy. I bought the medicine and took a bike back home.

On my way home, I stopped by a roadside vendor selling fruits to buy some bananas. My kids love bananas and I bought some to be reserved in the fridge.

I was feeling weak and having some nerves issues which I know is because of stress. I have been overworking myself and I decided to take the day off work after the vaccine. I napped for about 3 hours and woke up still weak but was feeling better.

I left the house to a nearby shop to buy some items for my kids. At the store I noticed most of the things the prices keep increasing every day. I picked the items I needed and paid for them.

I bought a carton of noodles, a pack of chocolates, tissue paper, and water. I came back home and heated the food. It was fried rice and we ate together.

It was the evening time and while we seat to relax at the lounge watching a movie. In sum, I can say my day was fully charged though I thought it was an off day from work. Thank you for reading and until my next diary session, it is a good night from my end.

Wow! A day well spent. Vaccination is very important, it will protect your son against infection.

I like the detailed explanation of how you spent your day

We are fortunate as the government provides these vaccines for free to protect our kids from infection.

Very fortunate ma, the government are really trying their best to combat infection from childhood, I am praying they extend this same energy to other pressing need of the society.

Thank you for dropping by ma.
