Hello esteemed steemians, accept steem greetings from this end on this precious evening. It is another day that the Lord has made and so let us maximise it by striving for vital information like the one I am about to share with you which has the ability to change or influence the way you have been thinking. In this episode, we shall be looking into the reasons why Africans fine it difficult to succeed in their lives and live above the poverty line. This means that we shall be discussing the causes of African poverty.

INTRODUCTION

Poverty is something no body ever wish to experience but it affects majority of the world population in one way or the order. We can either be poor financially, socially, mentally etc. Whatever the type of poverty, poverty or failure is something we all hate but how we act to avoid poverty matters a lot. I am basing my points in Africa because from analysis, Africa has the same causes of poverty and failure. For this reason, we will try to expose the problem and attempt a solution.

Causes of failure and poverty in Africa
Many things account for the reasons why Africans make awesome plans at young ages but end up failing to achieve their dreams. Some are caused by the individual while others are caused by external drive. However, we are always co authors of what ever happens to us to the individual carries majority of the blame.

  1. Mentality
The principal problem of an African in the Mentality that we have. Africans are very poor in thoughts; this means that we always ignore the important things that can actually make us succeed and focused on what is not important. Africans always want to take short cuts to succeed which is not possible. When you discuss something about building a business that will take 5 years to flourish, African will think u are boring, when you bring ideas that will need an African to sacrifice leisure, keep late nights etc, Africans will not buy the idea mean while all prominent rich and successful people in the world took time and a lot of sacrifice to get there. At this point, until we learn to take time, sacrifice leisure and pleasure and invest, work and do so with a clear vision, we will keep failing.

  1. Complain
Africans have a culture of complains. We always fine something or someone to blame for our misfortunes. We blame the government, we blame parents/family, we blame friends, we blame everything and everyone. This eventually make us lazy because in any circumstances, we always fine something to complain and when we complain, we remain in our comfort zone and the end result is only failure and poverty. On the other hand, we should always seek for ways to overcome challenges.
  2. Religion
Religion has arguably done more harm to Africa than good. Africa has the highest number of churches and religions in the world who keep praying for success and casting out poverty but we remain the poorest. The thing is that we don't know the different between what to pray for and what to work for. This is why someone will spend 3 or 4 days in the church per week and still hope to succeed like those who spend 6 days working. This situation has been made worst by uneducated men of God who have succeeded to capture and brainwash millions of Africans to think that prayers can make them rich miraculously. In most religious institutions, the founders are the heads, the richest and enjoy with their families while followers remain poor. It is time to redraw the line separating religion from prosperity.

  1. Politics
Africa is the continent that has suffered and continue to suffer from politics. Right from slave trade, to colonialism to neo colonialism and to soft power and everything, Africa has remain a victim. The issue of whether Africa is independent poses a strong debate among ponders. The governments of African countries are almost the same; incompetent, old, lack vision and are selfish. Because of this, policies are never meant to ameliorate the situation of the masses but to enrich the governors. This is why we have war, corruption, and tension boiling every in Africa.
  2. Poor sense of direction
Here, we see that Africans do not set out life goals and work by them. Africans keep hoping in luck and forget to set goals. Those who set goals eventually forget the goals along the line. This is caused by laziness and unseriousness.
  3. Absent of employment centers
There exist very few opportunities in Africa wherein in people are trained on entrepreneurship, where people can come together and discuss about money making projects. Someone can have a good project that will make billions but lack connection with the right people to realise the ideas.

This problem start with the educational system which leaves graduates with no skill and no opportunities.

CONCLUSION

In a nutshell, the problem of failure and poverty in Africa stems from so many dimensions and needs many solutions to overcome. To me, our principal problem is laziness. I'm sure u have spoken to some people about steemit and see the way they react when u tell them to work and the time they have to invest, they say it's slow. When u advise some to to take out 5 months and learn about forex or crypto currency trading, they say it's slow but when u do, they will say u are lucky. It's a general problem that we need to address.

Wooow woow 👏👏 this is really powerful and heart touching bro. Indeed all your reasons why we African are really backward are a hundred percent correct man. I pray our next generation should come and changed all this our dull mentalities

We hope so

I really do like your write ups, thats good, keep up, as Cameroonians especially, we need to keep hearing this so that we can change

Yeah... We are co authors of all our misfortunes

Wow
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is awesome. It's not bad to pray or love church, but the truth is that you can't seat and pray your way out of poverty. Even the Bible says "he who doesn't work, should not eat"

Wow , this is amazing and facts , all your points are true most especially religion

I'm glad u concur

Long but important

Wow this is so beautiful . You have touched on most of the points the only one I can add is that most Africans do not always adopt a team spirit, to join hands and collectively work on an idea.they struggle at individual level and this hinders progress.sk if most Africans can team up and work together ,there will be alot of growth in Africa .

Yes dear. The problem here is suspicion and greed. We want to succeed alone and we tend to suspect anyone who come to partner with us. That's what hinders team spirit

The problem in Africa is our leaders. They use the vulnerable to make their success. Africa have all it needs but since not all are equal many are force to remain even hungry but you can never hear them talk because of fear

Exactly the leaders are bad but if we specialize in complains, we are going no where. It's better to look for a way out rather than complain every day

All the points stated out are really the reason why us Africans are not succeding. Nice write up 💯💯
