MORNING MEDITATIONS WITH @elian23khan // SIN HAS NO POWER OVER YOU

I bring to you goodness that you can not deny it. Do you know that Jesus' death on the cross break the power of sin over your life?

Turn your Bible with me to Romans 6:6. This text says, "We know that our old life died with Christ on the cross so that our sinful selves would have no power over us." Beloved, what does this mean to you?¹ This is awesome, especially because we are by nature, good at nothing else than doing the wrong things.

Naturally, we are good at paying back evil for evil. If someone cause us pain, we try to get even. When someone treats you badly, you want to treat them badly also. We easily hold grudges and by so doing, struggle a lot to forgive.

My dear friend I have a message of hope for you today. You can be set free from the chains of bitterness, guilt, worry, anger, and resentment. That is one of the reason Jesus went to the cross. You can choose to be free from being a slave to what people did or are doing to you. Enjoy the freedom Christ has given you today by choosing to forgive them.

Permit me to ask a very personal question. What is it that is hurting you so badly? Write it somewhere please! If someone how much you want to be free from that particular pain, hurt, or whatever, what will you say? Will you say you want to let it go?, You might have thought of what your parents, siblings, husband or wife, friend, neighbour, and fiancé did to you time and time again. And no matter how many times, you still feel the gravity of the hurt.

The death of Christ on the cross has the power to liberate you from being a slave to your past hurts. It can set you free from regret, guilt, bitterness. Apart from looking up to Jesus, you won't be able to let go of all the pains than you are having in your heart. He is the solution you have been looking for.² Jesus' death on the cross break the power of sin and death in your life. You don't need to be a slave to it again. Become a child of God that you were meant to be.

Let us do some memory exercise. Take this time to think of the person who hurt you badly, who has made you this bitter, just call the name and say * I have forgiving you*. After doing that, come pray this prayer with me.

Heavenly Father, I know you understand the situation I have been through, the pain I when through with this (called the name of the person). And you know how much pain I have been carrying in my heart for this length time. Father I am tired, I want to surrender it all to you. I don't want to be a bitter person again. But I need you, your grace to do this. Give me that power that flowed from the cross of Christ so I can be able to forgive (called the name).

Forgive me for being resentful, bitter and hurtful to others all these while. Cleanse me from all my sinfulness. Thank you for sending Christ to die for me. I accept Him in my life, and the grace He brings. I most confessed that I need Him everyday.

Today, I surrender everything to Him, and I choose to forgive everyone who has hurt me. I promise that each time I remember the pain this person put me through, I will continue to forgive him until I am completely heal. Help me to live trusting you to completely heal me in Jesus name. Amen
