What is your understanding on Cyber bullying?

What do you really mean by the topic?Increasingly among teenagers.cyber is the use of computers and their electronics to distract someone It is usually done by this teenagers who has no job and is trying to swindle people out of money. The use of of mobile phones, messages ,e-mails,and social pages such as Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter , TikTok ,Instagram to bully and intimidate someone.

Have you ever been a victim or perpetrator of Cyber bullying

I have been a victim twice and I don’t feel very safe because they always change their ways of harassing people. The first one was hacking my momo account and taking my money. This was painful since my money was gone. But the second one was world remit. I had a call and they asked for a code to add me to a whatsApp group. I just mentioned the code and at moment my WhatsApp was hacked, they sent messages to my contacts telling them how I got a lot of money from them.

Immediately ,they started removing me from the whatsApp groups. They said I was going to fraud them. I quickly created a two step verification for myself and some friends helped me retrieve my WhatsApp back.I lost everything I had. I was removed from my class group, school main group, gmsa group and so many important group I was. I had to call the administrators to add me back. I got a lot of phone calls asking me if it was true.

Give an instance (if any) wherein you or someone you know felt bullied in cyberspace, and what spiked such a feeling. (It could be throughout any social platform)

A lot of people have been bullied online. On a bright Saturday morning, we had a wedding at my house so I went with my untie. I was sitting with her then she came and told me to go to the market and buy a viel I will wear for the wedding the next day which was on Sunday. I immediately left and I was in a hurry because it was getting late and I might not get what I wanted . I took a car and when I was sitting in the car. I saw a mobile money message on my phone and when I was about reading, a strange number called my phone and I picked up and it was a man’s voice. He said he sent me money and with a very polite and gentle tone. He told me I shouldn’t do anything that he has already reported to Mtn. That they will reverse the money then I said okay.

After some minutes time, he called again and said I should dial some certain codes, because of how polite he sounded, I thought he was a very good person. I was still in the car and it was all noisy, he sent me some codes and I obeyed him. How foolish I was.I didn’t even realize my money was gone. He called back and said I should use a different number and dial the code again. I told him I was alone. He later called me and said I should dial some codes again, I did it till it reached a part which he said I should select quick loan and I realize something fishy. He said I should get a Mobile money vendor and tell him I was sending it to my brother.

At that point I realize it was fraud, he called and I started insulting him. I quickly checked my mobile money balance and behold my money was gone. I was very sad. I didn’t know what to do. I went to Mtn office that moment and they said they had closed because it was passed 6:00pm. I went back to the house very sad.

How did this encounter affect this said person?

It affected me a whole lot because my money was gone. The small money I always survived on was gone.I was mocked and teased by my friends. They said a big girl like me have been robbed. I felt very stupid but I knew it wasn’t my fault. I would cry and curse the person who toke the only money I survived on. When they started using my account, especially my friends mocked at me for letting them do this to me.

I usually ask myself my they won’t look for work but scamming people and taking their money they worked really hard for. Someone will work hard for a month and another person will use just a some minutes to take the money easily .They even go unpunished.

How safe do you feel on Steemit? And have you ever felt bullied at any point in time? (on Steemit)

I felt very unsafe at first. My friends on campus always told to me to join Steem but I felt they want to take my money or hack my account like they usually did. They explain how it works and you don’t start with any money. I created my first account with the help of my friend but I lost my keys and I stopped using it. I didn’t want to do because I felt start with my account and they will later take the money i worked for. But now I am certain Steemit will never bully anyone.

What lessons did you gain from such a scenario? And what advice can you give to your audience?

I have learnt not to mention codes that they sent on your phone to strange people. You shouldn’t give your number to people you don’t know because they can one day hurt you.
I have also learnt you should open all links you see or they send to you.
I know that this platform doesn’t not fraud that is why I always encourage people to join.I would like to invite @kataali to join this amazing contest .

Cyber bullying perpetrators are not responsible for what they do. They just want to harm other people. It's a shame they don't have anything else to do. I also share a post about cyber bullying, if you have time please see it and I am very happy.
