Steem Cameroon Contest - My Short Movie Script: Cartoon Animation (The Forest Guard)

We all like the idea of being protected, just as well as the "Forest". The forest houses a lot of wildlife that need to be protected from selfish people who would want to bring about their end, it also includes protecting the trees and consequently the ecosystem at large. Who better to do this job than the noble Forest Guards.

I hail from a beautiful country in West Africa, Nigeria, and we are adorned by a lot of forest. In fact, you can't travel between two states without passing through some of them. Here are three forest areas in my country

1. Owo forest reserve
2. Idanre Forest reserve
3. Oluwa Forest reserve
   They all serve as home to some endangered species such as Elephants and Chimpanzees.

This gives me an idea on an interesting movie script to write on.

Title

The Enchanted Forest

Character

1. Joshua the forest guard: He protects the forest from those who will seek to do it harm. He's always on guard, ready for anything like a born boy-scout
2. Angela, his dog: Who better to be a companion than a loyal dog.
3. Wise Old Roger: There has to be a wise person to tie the story together.
4. Raverkuli, the wizard: I had to distinguish his name, it's not very attractive but it does give that bad-guy-vibe from hearing his name.

Plot

In the heart of Idanre Forest Reserve, there lived a Forest guard named Joshua who lived in a humble cottage with his dog and his old Grandfather, Old Roger. He was a very brave and playful lad but this wasn't the only thing interesting about Josh. He had the special ability to interact with Nature, the trees and animals could speak to him and he could understand which made him the best fit the job.

All was good until one day, an evil wizard, Raverkuli invaded his forest. He wanted to eradicate all life in the forest to enrich his power. His dark magic requires life in return for power and since Idanre Forest reserve is popular for its lively habitat, he believed it was the perfect place to visit.

Josh was sleeping beside a tree when he was awoken by Angela, his dog to suspicious poachers, after warding them away, he was hit by a very strong headache. The vision of the approaching perilous doom came to him and he quickly decided to act on it.

He informed Old Roger of his mission and he was advised to head to the heart of the forest to battle this great evil. He wore his hat, grabbed his weapons and soon began his journey into the forest until finally he came face to face with the wizard.

The battle between magic and strong will is an interesting one. No matter how many times Joshua fell he kept on getting back to his feet, together with his loyal dog who kept on sending waves of attack to the wizard. In the end, the Wizard was too powerful for Joshua.

As a last resort, Joshua cried as he called upon the spirit of forest. A glowing white light soon came over the forest, weakening the Wizards magic and empowering Joshua. With one final blow, the Wizard was destroyed and peace was restored back to the forest.

Joshua returned with his loyal dog Angela to celebrate his success and tell his grandfather of his tale as the scene draws to a close... Until the next adventure. An evil cackle can be heard as the story ends signifying something more sinister might occur on the next adventure.
