The Diary Game // 22nd Oct, 2024 // Enjoying Coconut Drink.

Greetings my good friends in steemit, how are you all, Hope you are all doing well. I know you are enjoying the best day of your life. This is me @kingdouglas from Nigeria. Let me present to you my activities of today 22/10/2024 and the experience I had in Mkpat Enin local government area.

I woke up as early as 5am as usual, after checking my mail and messages in my phone, I observed my morning devotion, before I brushed my teeth. I took two glasses of water and had my bath. I the freshened up with breakfast and hit the road to my office.

When I got to the office, my apprentice had already cleaned the office and kept everything in place, ready to receive customers. Business have started and customers started coming in. Like every other day, I snapped one of my customers who came for passport photograph, during the printing process I noticed that the ink cassette remained only one. Thank God I was able to print for the customer.

Knowing how it feels for a customer to get to a business centre with high hope of getting a good services, then instead got disappointed. I don't wait for another customer to come, I had to rush to buy another ink cassette. In the commercial mini bus, I took a picture.

On my way to buy the ink, one of the passengers wanted to stop. By the side of the road was a funeral ceremony, life band was on stage and I was amazed by the dancers who displayed to the tune of the band. It was colourful and a nice scene, I tried to snap those dancers but since it was a commercial vehicle the driver did not wait as he had already dropped the passenger, but I was able to snap the decorated canopy.

Upon my arrival at the photography/studio equipment shop, the price they told me almost got me frustrated because I went there with the usual amount that I used to buy the ink cassette before, that is #9,000 Naira which is equivalent to 28.771 steem. Not knowing that the price has been increased to #13000 Naira, equivalent to 41.537 steem. I had to transfer some money from my bank to complete the new price to be able to purchase the ink cassette.

As I came back, very close to my office, I saw a boy kneeling and his hands up at the Aluminium construction shop. I had to stop by and asked his boss who usually type the quotations and other of his printing jobs with me, what happened? The boss said that his apprentice is stubborn, that he violated the rules and regulations of his company by reporting at work by 10am instead of the usual time of 8am. So he asked him to kneel for some minutes which served as a purnishment for his offence. That calls for concern as to whether such a disciplinary measure is fair for a default apprentice. I think I will make a post about that.

By 2:30pm, my friend by name Saviour called me on phone that he wanted to visit his uncle at Mkpat Enin LGA, that he will love me to accompany him, since I was less busy, I had to joined him. The village name is Ikot Ebak, a serene community in Mkpat Enin local government area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. It is located about 41km away from Uyo, the state capital of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. On our way back, "Park well and come out Sir", a woman by name ITORO invited us to buy green - coloured fruits - COCONUT. The offer was so enticing that we could not refuse.

That reminds me of what I learned about coconut back then in my high school days.

Coconut, often dubbed the "tree of life" has long been celebrated for its myriad health benefits, encapsulated in its hard shell. Athletes often turn to coconut water for its ability to replenish lost fluids and minerals, promoting faster recovery after intense physical exertion. My friend and myself felt good and comfortable while enjoying eating and sipping some coconut water in the hospitable community.

We arrived at Uyo by 7pm and I went back to my house. I was tired so I had to quickly take my bath, ate my dinner and head straight to my bed and have a rest for the day.
