Good day wonderful Steemians. It's always a pleasure writing here and reading from you too. It's a cold morning over here and since sleep has decided to leave my eyes, I said why don't I make use of this opportunity to make another post. This rain wey dey fall no be here o. It is always a delight though when it pours because everywhere is calm and this is always the best time to close your windows, watch a movie and take hot tea.
As I scrolled through my ekwenti (what phone is called in igbo dialect). I hope you aren't laughing from your pronunciation. Well, let me help you out already. It's pronounced this way "eee kwe nti". I hope you get it right this time. I am just smiling from this. What made me add it to this post, I don't know. I guess it's as the spirit leads.
As I scrolled through my phone, I didn't know what exactly to post or talk about. I now remembered something as I saw a picture I took in December. Reminiscing about that day made me laugh hard.
My family had a wedding to attend as one of our uncles in our kindred was getting married. Everyone was told from onset the time to attend as we were to represent. The place for the event wasn't too far from home so my humble self and cousins relaxed while our daddies, mummies, aunts and grandma left on time. I mean after all, we gonna trek to the venue so nothing spoil and we will be there in no time.
My dear Steemians morning came and went and we the grandchildren said there was still time, while be in a hurry sef. Na african time na, event never start properly. Afternoon came too and passed, we never still go. Like our spirits all aligned and we remembered we had an event to attend finally. Everyone ran helter skelter to bath and dress up.
Past 4p.m, we were still dressing up. Where the whole drama started was when I wore the first outfit, a gown and came out to check my outfit. I wasn't okay with it at all. I asked my siblings how it was and how I looked, they said it was ok. You know when your mind is already made up and you still ask questions. What for exactly? When you will still do wetin dey your mind. That was me that day. I kept changing and changing, delaying those that were already ready and shouting no one should leave me o. Why will I be left to go alone no o. We are in this together and will face it together. I finally wore something I was okay with.
It wasn't easy at all. We started walking so fast and when we got to the venue, we used our eyes to search for where our family sat to know how to not follow there to sit in order not to be seen. Anyone that saw us that day will think we came to spy or investigate something. The seriousness and everything. This post isn't really doing justice to what I am explaining. We managed to sit.
Lo and behold Steemians that was the end of the event. We just gave ourselves this expression that said "what just happened here?" It was really funny. We all said we didn't come now o. We have been in this event since o. I hope you saw the clothes I finally wore to sight see because I can't explain what I went for after my struggles.
Thank you all for reading from me. Do have a very lovely day until my next post.
