World Food Programme in Cameroon
WFP has been present in Cameroon since 1978. Poverty remains a big problem in Cameroon for over 40% of the total population of 24.1 million people. The country has been significantly affected by recent crises and instabilities, leaving some 392, 499 refugees, 687,000 internally displaced persons IDPs and vulnerable local host communities, all requiring food assistance for long term livelihood recovery. The number of people facing food insecurity in Cameroon is estimated at 3million, including 198,000 severely food insecure. Malnutrition (MAM) affects some 161,000 children country wide and 63,000 children suffer fr severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).
World Food Programme WFP believes every man , woman and child has the right to access food all the times for an active and healthy life.

Natural disasters
Those recovering from a crisis.
Established in 1962, WFP assists an average of 90 million people around 83 countries each year.HOW THEY WORK
WFP provides food assistance to populations through:
In-kind (mixed food basket equivalent to 2100 kcal per person/per day).
Cash and vouchers
The assistance depends on the needs of the affected population.
WFP works in partnership with national and International NGOs, other UN agencies, grass root and faith based Organizations.OUR VALUES

WFP provides food assistance to poor and vulnerable populations, prioritizing the needs of the most vulnerable and those with special needs.
