International Migrants Day 2021: Quotes and messages
‘Migration is an expression of the human aspiration for dignity, safety, and a better future. It is part of the social fabric, part of our very make-up as a human family’ -Ban Ki-moon
We can't deter people fleeing for their lives. They will come. The choice we have is how well we manage their arrival, and how humanely.’ -Antonio Guterres
We cannot and should not stop people from migration. We have to give them a better life at home. Migration is a process, not a problem.’ -William L. Swing
Remember, remember always, that all of us, and you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.’ -Franklin D Roosevelt
Few years back in Cameroon, the Anglophone crisis in the North and South West Regions of Cameroon has rendered thousands of people on the run where some flee from burning houses , stray bullet and the war in these regions out large. Most of the people in the risky zones were usually the villages but nowadays every where in the North and South West Isa risky zone.
Most at times, I ponder how my fellow brothers and sisters are faring in the refugee camp in Nigeria and I know a safety environment is at utmost importance to us just like Abraham Maslow's hierarchy of needs illustrates that our physiological needs are they be meet like drinkable water, food etc before one start looking about safety and then to love and belongingness.
political migration is the main reason most of my brothers and sisters are in the refugee camp in Nigeria - moving to escape political persecution or war
Though some migrants in different areas maybe forced too because of environmental causes of migration include natural disasters such as flooding.
A refugee is someone who has left their home and does not have a new home to go to. Often refugees do not carry many possessions with them and do not have a clear idea of where they may finally settle.
Push and pull factors
Push factors are the reasons why people leave an area. They include:
lack of services
lack of safety
high crime
crop failure
drought
flooding
poverty
war
Pull factors are the reasons why people move to a particular area. They include:
higher employment
more wealth
better services
good climate
safer, less crime
political stability
more fertile land
lower risk from natural hazards
Migration usually happens as a result of a combination of these push and pull factors.
It's been four years down the lane where political manipulation has made us wander and easily migrate, though I still here but will not seizes an opportunity to flee for my life for safety it been threatened.
We need peace, war is costly and peace is priceless!!! While waiting for the international communities to come to our aids for a dialogue, we pray it comes so fast because countless innocent people are been killed daily.

The international community do not have interest in Separating a country . Our solutions lies in our hands.
Thanks for bringing this to the spot light. Beautiful Sunday and best regards my best friend.
