Greetings, dear Steem mates. I hope this day was wonderful for all of us.
My day began with a wake-up call at 6 AM. I sent the kids off to school, showered, and left for the office at 7:20 AM. On my way, I stopped by my barber for a shave. I usually visit the barber every 7 days, but I missed the appointment yesterday, so I decided to catch up today.
I also needed to look straight sharp because I had an interview scheduled with my good friend and former colleague, Shinyuy Glory, the founder of Sparkle and Shine with Glory. This talk show aims to offer educational, motivational, and inspiring conversations where individuals share their stories and practical tips for self-improvement.
When Glory called, I delayed due to recent health challenges. However, she was patient with me, and we finally started the interview today. It lasted about 3 hours but was interrupted by a power outage. We hope to complete it tomorrow.
After leaving the office, I visited one of our partners, Educare Nursery, Primary, and Secondary School, Bamenda, Cameroon, in my capacity as the Manager of the Texas Institute of Public Speaking, Cameroon. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss relaunching public speaking training at Educare, as we did last academic year.
I arrived and waited about 5 minutes to meet with the school's headteacher.
We discussed the public speaking training briefly, and she shared feedback from the school's board. The board approved renewing the contract between TIPS and Educare but suggested postponing it to give parents more financial breathing room as the academic year had just begun in the region. "That sounds fair to me ma'am" I told the headteacher. We exchanged contact information so she could keep me updated on any developments, and I requested permission to give a personal development talk to the pupils and students. She readily agreed, and I'll be speaking to the kids on Friday.
I left Educare and went to Gratitude Nursery and Primary School. At Gratitude Nursery and Primary School, I had a lengthy conversation with their headteacher about the same topics. She provided feedback on last year's public speaking program, including what worked well and what didn't. I appreciated her insights and said, "This feedback is very valuable, Ma'am. It will help us restrategize and do better this year."
She validated the renewal of the contract and took me to the different classes where I reintroduced myself, informed the kids about the upcoming public speaking training program, and gave them a message for their parents. I also secured an opportunity to give personal development talks to the children and a leadership discussion at the forthcoming PTA meeting at Gratitude Nursery and Primary School.
After leaving the school, I went home around 2 PM, changed my clothes, and headed to Commercial Avenue to pick up a few things for a friend's newly opened restaurant.
This activity kept me out until almost 8 PM tonight. It was challenging to find the items I needed quickly, and the rain made things even more difficult.
I finally got the items (a music player, foldable tables, teacups, a frying pan, and some other electronic gadgets) and delivered them to the restaurant around 6:30 PM.
6:30 PM is rush hour, so traffic was, as expected, terrible. I arrived at the restaurant around 7 PM, tested some of the items, and then left for home. When I got home, I realized I had forgotten my phone charger at the office earlier, and my phone battery was dead. Thankfully, my neighbor generously let me use his charger to power up my phone.
That's how I concluded my day.
How was yours?
