Greetings to you all, beautiful Steemates. I suppose we are all doing fantastic today at our respective ends.
Yesterday, I had another opportunity to share words of motivation and encouragement with the students at Gratitude Bilingual Nursery and Primary School in Bamenda City, Cameroon.
We discussed the importance of focus, curiosity, peer pressure, hard work, and morality.
I arrived at the school in the morning slightly before 7:30 AM as promised to the headteacher. I found her a little occupied when I got there, so I had the time to have a brief and insightful conversation about the future of our communities (young people). She expressed her concerns about how hasty young people are about making money and the kinds of things they do to make this money. She told me that talks like the ones I have with these kids are very important to guide them towards constructive decision-making.
After our conversation, the headteacher came, and the bell was rung for the young students to assemble, which they did. The headteacher had a brief session of praise and worship with the kids before handing the floor over to a pastor who always comes around to share the word of God with the children. He spoke about prayer and how to pray, and then his assistant prayed with the students. The headteacher then returned to the stage.
The headteacher then announced me and gave me the floor. I spoke with the children and we did an exercise to illustrate most of the things I said.
I briefly told them about public speaking and its importance and gave them information to give their parents about the relaunching of the training programs.
It was a great encounter today with the children, and I noticed something that made me feel some relief. The pastor and his assistants brought my attention back to the other pastor and counselor that I met yesterday at Divine Bilingual Multi-Level Learning Center Bamenda.
I realized that many people are not comfortable with the situation of our youth, who mostly end up in drug addiction, cybercrime, and other unethical involvements.
And because of this, people are congregating efforts so that a change can be achieved for a better future for our dear country, Cameroon, and the entire world at large.
