Seasonal greetings once more from Cameroon on behalf of the #steemcameroon community with mentorship from @saxopedia I wish you all a Happy New Year in advance 😊, my dairy goes this.
Woke up , went to the parlour were we had our Morning devotion with family and later my sent me to the market to get some food items.
I was later assigned to cook beans which will be the meal of the day
THE DAY
Took a walk to the market since it is located beside our house , got some beans , ginger and later went home , I will give you a little recipe on how the beans was prepared
INGREDIENTS
Beans
Ginger
Garlic
Palm oil
Salt
Maggi
Onions
So the beans was selected as to remove dirt particles from it , I later washed it in other to remove dust and ensure it was clean
Later I assembled my fireside with he wood and mesh fro Palm kennel to get a good stable flame , I always use this method when ever I am cooking heavy meals like ; beans, "cornchaff", "achu" and lots more since it helps economise gas and it's faster to
I then boiled the beans with water for close to 45 minutes
Now it took so much time beacuse I had not yet soaked the beans in water , if I had done that the the bean seeds would absorb water and become soft hence facilitate boiling.
After boiling to required softness , I prepared the spices and later cooked the beans with the palm oil
The accompaniment of this meal was boiled site rice.
THE AFTERNOON
While I was at home just chilling and watching some videos on my phone, I received a call from a construction company requesting for assistance with a minor Job , so I went over there and we were expected to offload 1000pieces of cemented foundation blocks, this is not your favorite type of Job you would love but I needed the money tho , so we started the Job , it was quite tudious but we braved it .
We worked for about 3hours offloading the blocks up to the point that all of our bodies were covered in cement dust it wasn't easy at all but little by little we kept pushing on and on till we finished the JOB
1000 pieces of foundation cemented Blocks
It was a success
THE EVENING
We went home and I took my bathe , had my dinner and later had a webinar with CEO of platicoin were he distributed over £1000 to all for he participants present , it was a wonderful day and everything went on well.
Thanks to @steemcurator01 for reading my previous post I am grateful
Reading through your diary gave me reasons to smile. For some reason, I could visualise how you went about the parts of your day, that you highlighted in this entry.
Unloading the building blocks reminded me of a time in my life spent in Ekpoma, Nigeria. Surely, it is not the most sought after work considering the physical strength required to perform the task. In Ekpoma working construction was colloquially referred to as "Lebuke" pronounced [lay-boo-kay]. Fun fact, I suppose.
If I may, do you know what that type of beans is called? Or rather, what it is called in Cameroon?
Is "Maggi" the only (maybe most popular?) condiment used in cooking in Cameroon?
Interesting read. Nice of you to share.
