Hello and Steem greetings..
The health and Educational systems are the most organized systems in cameroon respectively.Education in Cameroon is among the best in Africa, but can be below the standards.

When a kid completes primary h/she most be at least 12 years or above. Believing that h/she most have gone through proper grooming in the primary school, their minds and their hearts have been developed towards their passion and purpose in life.
This is often a very critical episode in the life of every child, reason being that if care and proper orientation is not being done either by parents or teachers, the kid might lost h/her way and letter on regret in life as h/she grows up.
My say about the number of subjects and content that should be treated in secondary schools

Funny as it sounds, today I am still trying to figure out how fishing alone the cost of Noway has helped me
Flooding the child's mine with 15 subject in school is a bad practice. It is good that children stick to what they are interested in. Important subjects such as maths, language, and Ethics should be the only composrey subjects, and also science should be treated as a subject on its own instead of breaking it into smaller subjects. So too with Arts.
So what do I mean to say here, if a student is science oriented h/she should study science and maths, language and Ethics. So too with arts students.

now talking about content.
This aspect of changing syllables year after year makes no sense instead it reflects poor planning. Knowledge should not be treated like a currency where the value has to be checked over and over in other to mitigate inflation. For instance literature, novels keep on changing, and when a student fails he/she have to learn something new with a different concept.

Irrelevant topics should be taken out of the syllables.
•History should be thought with the intent of restructuring the feature.
•Geography should be oriented towards environmental and sustainable development.
•Physics and chemistry should be geared towards innovation and not in the balancing of challenging equations.
Just to name a few.
In a nut shell, I think the maximum number of subjects per student should be 6. And the content realistic and geared towards solving and also passion, purpose and career oriented.

Thanks for reading

I love your point on the constant changing of syllabus it's too poor and poverty is fast eating deep into Cameroonians changing syllabus every year makes it difficult for one's children to share the same text book s

Am telling you. Making kids so confused

Very interesting write up. But about changing the syllabus, it is necessary. There is no innovation without change. When you go through the evaluation tasks, you will see clearly that when the methods of teaching, content of the material and inplementation along with the students reactions are evaluated, there must be some changes to come.

You will agree with me that the system is not 100% effective. This is why continuous evaluation is done each year per subject and level yo see how efficient it is and if it is generating the desired effect. This is why you will notice that not all syllabuses are changed. Also, it is not a drastic change. Many topics have been removed rather than added so I don't see how that is stressing the students.

Also, you will agree with me that the world is changing rapidly. Everything has to also adjust so as to accompany and maximise benefits from this change. Reason why the major change being done was to subsequently use the Competency Based Approach(CBA). This was adopted to allow students learn from more practical examples and illustrations. This is a very big change to just cramming theories in ones head. Now tell me how this change is not necessary.

And in regards to textbooks, the most important thing is to get the knowledge. If your worry is about cost, my dear please look at it this way. It is an investment and your children will thank you later. I gre up in a home where we had so many old textbooks which were no longer used in the schools. But it is these books which helped me when studing on my own. Sure, the textbook issue has been over run by people trying to make profit. But get the main ones that will prevent your child from being disturbed at school. After all, there is a reason why textbooks and workbooks are to be bought. How will you feel if your child is left out of an activity because he did not have the textbook? Educating your child is the biggest and most expensive investment you will ever make in your life. And trust me, you won't regret it.

Thanks for the review I greatly appreciate your view towards the subject in question.
Once again thanks

It is my pleasure

Education should be realistic, career oriented and driven towards solving the world's most pressing challenges. I love this point. We need to tailor our education towards fixing our country.

Thank you sir

My brother thanks so much for this. You said it right

Flooding the child's mine with 15 subject in school is a bad practice

If they could really good the child's brain with career oriented stuff then it'll be cool. A child is susceptible to learning well while it his earliest stages. And I think that's where they need to be thought general knowledge but as from form 3, they should begin specialising in the aspect they know best.

Thanks bro mi
I really have a heavy heart seeing kids strogling to impress teachers with good results that will only lead them away from their purpose in life.
Some teachers become teachers as a Last option in life. my heart bleeds 😢😢😢.

It's well brother. Little by little, we will get there

Great write up!
We are in the same shoes. Even the toothpicks we are using is made from china🤣

I get ur point but to my personal opinion, a child should do all the 15 subjects in Form 1 and Form 2 as it not only increases their options of field of study but also, it widens their mind and increases their knowledge on the subject. And the workload is actually quite small as compared to higher levels for in these lower level classes, they do practically just the basics so at least everyone from any field knows the basics of any field and can use that knowledge to determine his/her passion.

I appreciate your view thanks.
Reading my points you should understand that I concentrated more on subject content
Once again thanks

Okay, I see. Thanks for sharing your point of view with us.

Good one🤝. I always want to think of this matter of the learner’s interest to proof that the Cameroonian system of education isn’t that bad. How does one identify the interest of a child without this variety of subjects for orientation? Academics shouldn’t be that thing we use to say when we were small and we could just say “I want to be this and that when I grow up” rather it should be based on potentials and ability of the realization of this potential from the parental point of view and the level of the society one finds himself. All these precision and identification of character and potentials of young learners will mostly be appreciated if they pass through a lot of different fields in the course of different subjects. If you look keenly, subjects reduce as classes increase and within specialties some level of expansion is done to further widen the scope of each specialty. My point of view 🤝

It's all depends on your point of view.
And the question is, "that has been the way for years now and how has that help out"?
We still have engineer who wish they could be lawyers and doctors. Graduates who regret ever taking the courses they did.

Logistic students who learn swimming in hotel swimming pools.

What's my point here??
My concern is not on the number of subjects but doesn't means I agree with you though.
My concern is about content and irrelevant subject content material. Hope you won't raise any other argument on this point.

You write like a real and amazing scholar! I am impressed by the points you put forth bro. I wish the get to the right eyes.

Thank you brother
