Hello guys hope u are all doing great and had a splendid weekend. Mine was a busy one. So in this write up am going to explain the activities that made my weekend busy.
The health centre where i worked organized a mini peri campaign on vaccination. The main reason for this "peri" campaign is to vaccinate children that have missed out on any vaccine.
Some important points to note about vaccination
*Vaccination ends at 5 yrs which includes routine vaccines such as;
*BCG against Tuberculosis
*Penta(5 vaccine) against disphetria,pertussis, tetanus, *viral hepatitis B, influenza type b infection
*Pneumo against pneumonia
*Polio against poliomylietis
*Rota against diarrhea
*measles and yellow fever vaccine against measles and yellow fever.
( from 0- 1year 3months).
*Vitamin A aids in vision, strength the mucosal lining of the intestines
mebendazole tablets or abendazole tablets (deworming).
continue every 3months till 5yrs.
Peri Campaign on Vaccination in mile 14 Dibanda
The campaign started on Friday 19- Sunday 21 of November 2021. It was scheduled as follows;
Friday 19; vaccination in schools
Saturday 20; vaccination in the community
Sunday: vaccination in churches .
Peri Campaign on vaccination done in schools
My colleagues and i went to some nursery and primary schools on friday because thats were the targeted population is found.
Vaccination done in school.
Peri Campaign on Vaccination done in the community
On Saturday we went to the community using the door to door strategy, we administer to children whose parent gave concern
Vaccinating in the community.
The vaccination ended on Sunday with churches though we faced much resistance as most churches refused the administration for reasons of fear that it could be Covid vaccine and other reasons best known to them.
Carrying out vaccination isn't an easy task but we are compelled to do it based on the importance of vaccines.
Though we may not all be parents today, but will definitely be someday, please lets not miss out a child vaccination for any reason.
Thanks for reading.
Great awareness post… sensitization and campaigns are really important. People miss out on important things due to ignorance and or fear

Yes dr u are right, but we should try as much to trust a little, if u are scared of those that are walking around, u can as well take your child to a clinic and vaccinate there, read the labels and even Google search to confirm. I do understand the fears
