The Experience With our Grandparents

Back are those days when we usually could not wait for break to come just to pay a visit to our grand parents. They were are source of meeting point when all related family members converge just to feel the presence and enjoy their gen. Calling you a grand parent at least one could talk of someone of age 70 years old.

They had all things intend of food. Our grand parents had fruit forest like pear, oranges, mangoes and guava just to name a few. Why we usually visit them was because we were not restricted to harvest all of these but instead they were happy their children’s children were the one harvesting it. Grand parents were characterized with having a third leg(stick) and with grey hairs. They will shout and say all but their love was unique. Going to our grandparents, our parents would buy items like salt, oil, and sovon out of which before we go back we have use it all. It was a great expression back in the village going to our old parents.

One of the most interesting side of it was during meal times. We usually eat heavy food in the morning as they didn’t know of tea. After eating we will eat fruits all around and by around 12noon we will eat again and at 2:00pm before waiting for evening. All of us were assembly in the kitchen at once and food was share in the same size irrespective of the sex or how far you worked that day. There was always enough to eat and it was this great moment we get to know some of our family members and get in connection with them.

Our grandpa this time was only specialize in story telling, arts and craft and making fun. He hardly visit the kitchen but each time food was cooked, his own was served where he usually placed his chair. He was known of always appreciating the hard working ones may be by giving them surprises or removing some of his meat for all to share. Everyone respect grandpa more than grandma but he was the least active bc he hardly work or do hard labor.

Ladies and gentle men if you still have an old parent it’s time to caterer for them so well because many of us today are because of their existence. They do not need much or need luxury to be happy. They only need our comfort and our success in life. When ever we have the opportunity, let’s try to bring them close to us in town to make them enjoy what they dream for us. Being with our grandparents was a great blessing and it’s still a blessing. Ask yourself when last you visited your grandparents and try to make a change. Please if you do not have any there are still some you can still go to.
