Using alternatives as a solution to plastics papers in Bamenda

Greetings to all my ya steemians. Christmas festive period coming and there is going to be more and more plastic waste dump all over town. Today I will be sharing with you the importance of instead using but leaves of plant to serve food and preserve food. These leaves can easily be acted upon by bacterial which we can in turn use as manure for our farms.

Biodegradable papers

In Bamenda and other towns, there is a problem on how to manage solid waste. This can be seen from increase heaps of uncollected waste found on street sides. To solve these problem it’s necessary to use plant leaves to put our food than plastic papers.
It shows that Bamenda city produces more than 150tonnes of solid waste out of which around 25% is non-biodegradable. It’s believed that around 90%of all solid waste are from households. The waste is disposed in an uncontrolled manner on the Rivers and flood plains.

Bamenda apply the some approaches which are base on imported technologies while looking down recycling and safe disposal, waste prevention and separation. This approach makes it hard for the system to function well thus creating lots of environmental and health problems. Government waste policies are limited, divided and and hard to understand.
The systems are not sustainable because they surely depend on the budget to put into their pocket without bringing out sustainable solutions.

As a farmer, I think the best way is to restrict or ban the importation or the production of plastic items. There are other ways one of which is the use of bio degradable plastics or leaves of plants. All these can easily decay and decomposed to form manure which can later be use in crop production.
There are lots of rubbish containers-already full for months mostly with plastic waste.
The situation is not only worse but I’m Bamenda but all the regions of Cameroon. This really makes it hard for many to work, or breath good air where is if it was possible to isolate waste and and find a site to decompose it, it will be beneficial as many will as well buy the manure for their farm inputs.
