Drug is abused or misused when it is taken without a doctor's prescription or approval (misuse) whereas Illicit Trafficking is the illegal or unlawful movement of drugs especially hard drugs from one location to the other.

what do you know about the day?

Every 26th of June every year is a date that can never be over emphasize, due to what it represent and mean to the people, it a day people get to know the harmfulness of self-medication , it is a time to educate people on the fact that local medicine can be abuse especially those that doesn't have dosage, the difference between sedative drug and a hard drug, the consequences of engaging in drug abuse and the ways drug addicts can be corrected (rehabs) and the ways to know drug traffickers, the consequences of engaging in illicit trafficking .The day is a time to sensitize young people on the consumption of hard drugs and health risks in taking them(drugs) .

How do your country or your organization celebrate the day?

Knowing fully well that Africa and Nigeria in particular is one of highest consumers of hard, make it very paramount and as such my country, organizes a massive sensitization programs that will involve two or three days visit to tertiary institutions and secondary school in the country to sensitize young people on the need for a drug free life and competitions and road march are organized to mark the day . Rehabilitation centers are built to correct addicts from drug abuse.

what impact does your community gain during and after the commemoration day?

The impact during and after the commemoration day is that fact that correctional center or rehabs are set up by government to educate and correct addicts and also there is a significant reduction in crime because hallucinations and depression which are symptoms of drug abuse is the major cause of crimes in the society.

As a Nigerian, I can attest to this. Drug trafficking has been one of the major issue among tertiary institutions students and this has raised a lot of concerns.
Thank you so very much for this.

Yeah every Nigerian can relate this , the most recent is onkolos that is trending now , so of a truth it's alarming . The sensitization should go beyond commemorated day . Thanks for reading

What a great day to have, a day for an awareness campaign on drugs!
Drug trafficking is on the rise in my beloved country, and if we could have had a day like this, it would have been awesome!
The youth need to be educated.
Good luck with the contest, and thanks for the invite.

Kindly take note that this is the second post I am supporting you on this week.
Unfortunately, to make it fair to other Steemians I cannot support more than two posts in a week.

Our little voice can matter when voiced together,so it has become very necessary for us to speak against drug abuse and the ways people are lured to drug trafficking against their will.

A country filled with drug abusers or drug addicts is always prone to crimes. Thanks for your support regardless 🤗 i appreciate you for everything. It will be nice for me to get your telegram name so as to ask you some questions about steemit please!

It was on the news yesterday that drug trafficking in South Africa was nearly doubled in recent years with Cape Town the ideal harbour.
It is so sad.

As for telegram. I am on the Africa WhatsApp group. You will get my number there. (•ิ‿•ิ)

That's okay, please add me to the group

Drug abuses are caused great harm in the country and I agree with you that organizing a massive sensitization program will help to reduce the number of people that goes into drugs but most especially I think that when we have enough job opportunities and other helps from the government, Alot of people will not consider drugs as an option because one of the top reasons people engage in drugs(trafficking and consumption) is because one depression and poverty.

This is just my humble opinion, good luck in the contest sir

I am that you share the same sentiment and opinion with me and I also mentioning that creating jobs can help eradicate drug abuse as unemployment is the major cause of drug abuse. Thanks for stopping by 🤗
