Accept warm Steem greetings from Steem Cameroon plagiarism team. It’s another awesome week, with much ahead of us to be achieved. We hope everyone is ready to Steem on to the moon because we are ready to support all to the moon.

That said, this weekly reports from the plagiarism team is kind of a reminder for steemians to be cautious each time they create content on this platform. Why? Because steemit team does not encourage users with plagiarised content or spam content.

Our humble advice is that content creators should endeavour to check and recheck content before posting on steemit. This is because we all know there are moments that internet services are not the best and instances as such might deceive users to post content that is not 100% unique.

Notwithstanding, we realised that there has been great improvements by steemians with regards to plagiarism. but there are still some few things to be done especially with the use of block quotes. Content creators should make sure to source block quotes because we consider them as plagiarised content.

Admins and MOD’s have as duty to cross-check all content on the steem-Cameroon community before using the community account to curate. Our wish is to have a steem-cameroon community free of plagiarism.

For your content to be 100% Unique, it means that your article does not have any percentage of plagiarized content. We believed that there are some themes that require users to research before writing. An advice we will give is that endeavor to acknowledge the authors by referencing your borrowed work. When you do not acknowledge the original author, then it is considered academic theft. Steem Cameroon Community Account does not in any way tolerate such acts and admins and MODs do not hesitate to mute such content.

When faced with a plagiarism case, we issue first warning ⚠️ to the user but if it persist to the 3rd time, the user content is muted. But if it continues, we have no other option but to blacklist from the community.

This week, the team reviewed 38 accounts in total and recorded 01 plagiarised content.

However, we recommend that everyone should endeavor to cross-check content several times before posting.

Users should stop editing their posts after a plagiarised comment is made on the post, but endeavor to add references. This is because you do not edit what has been recorded on the blockchain.

New users should complete their achievement program in the newcomer's community to familiarize themselves with the platform especially achievement 3 on plagiarism and achievement 4 on markdown.

We encourage content creators to use Google lens in order to check image originality before use. This is because we realised that some users used watermarked images.

We used the following to check plagiarism and will encourage content creators to use them as well.
