Yesterday was a busy day, so I started early. After getting ready, I had a quick breakfast and headed out. My first stop was at Smart Driving School at Mile 2 Junction for my first day of driving lessons. Learning to drive has always been a daunting idea for me, with the thought of navigating through traffic and facing potential dangers. However, after some convincing from my mother, I decided it was time to face this fear.
Upon arriving at the school, I joined the others, and soon, our class began. The facilitator started by explaining that in the CEMAC zone, we drive on the right. He introduced us to various road signs and how to interpret them, as well as the different categories of driving licenses. We also covered the basics: the three pedals, how to properly position our hands on the wheel, and other foundational knowledge.
After the theory session, we moved on to the practical part.
The facilitator showed us how to open a car, adjust the seat and mirrors, and start the engine. I was quite nervous when it was my turn. When I finally got the car to move, my anxiety spiked and I almost felt like jumping out of the car, haha. It was scary and challenging, but I managed to learn. My legs were sore afterward from pressing the pedals, but the facilitator reassured me that itβs normal when youβre just starting out. Despite the nerves, I enjoyed the experience.
After that, we were all given T-shirts.
After the lesson, I headed to the office.
Later closed and I went home. My sisterβs friend had visited and brought some chips, so we snacked on those.
Later, I had French fries and eggs for dinner,
followed by some refreshing watermelon.
I spent some time working on my weekly goals before calling it a night.
