WHAT IS YOUR UNDERSTANDING OF CYBER BULLYING
Before I explain what I have understood about Cyber Bullying, I would like to explan them differently i.e "Cyber and "Bullying" so that we can fully understand and as well get a clear picture of what Cyber Bullying is
CYBER: Cyber can be said to be, anything at all relating to a computer system, the internet, Data processing, or information Technology in general. Cyber is mostly used as prefix to another word, as in; cybercrime, cyber-security cyberspace etc.
BULLYING: Bullying is said to be the intentional use of force, power, agression by a person or group to disgrace, embarrass, harass or toture another either because the bully in question is bigger in size, age, knowledge, etc
In my own understanding, Cyber Bullying is the use of internet, information technology and everything relating to the computer system to deliberately harass, insult, discomfort talk bad or give false information about someone this and make somebody feel totally sad.
This is done using emails, Text messages, or various software Application. The Cyber Bullies often use fake identity and location so that their victims won't be able to know them
TYPES OF CYBER BULLYING
Cyberbullying takes many forms. Common types of cyberbullying include:
i. Exclusion
A cyberbully can intentionally leave someone else out of an online group or message thread. This can leave a victim feeling isolated and depressed.
ii. Harassment
Harassment occurs when a cyberbully sends persistent and hurtful online messages to a victim. These messages can contain threats.
iii. Cyberstalking
With cyberstalking, a cyberbully monitors a victim’s online presence closely. The bully can also make false accusations and threats against the victim and their loved ones. Additionally, cyberstalking can extend to the real world, becoming quite serious and dangerous for the victim and potentially their loved ones.
Cyberstalking and offline stalking are both considered criminal offenses. In either instance, a victim can file a restraining order against their perpetrator. Furthermore, the perpetrator can face probation and jail time.
iv. Outing
A cyberbully outs a victim by openly revealing sensitive or personal information without their consent. The bully does so in the hopes of embarrassing or humiliating the victim.
v. Fraping
Fraping occurs when a cyberbully uses a victim’s social media accounts to post inappropriate content with the victim’s name attached to it. In this scenario, the victim is tied to online content that can damage their reputation.
vii. Trolling
Not all trolling is considered cyberbullying, but cyberbullies can troll victims by posting derogatory comments about them online in the hopes of hurting these individuals.
viii. Dissing
A cyberbully disses a victim by spreading cruel information about them. The bully does so via public posts or private messages, with the intent of damaging the victim’s reputation or relationships with others.
ix. Flaming
Flaming consists of posting about or sending insults and profanity to a victim. A cyberbully flames a victim in the hopes of getting this individual to engage in an online fight.
x. Denigration
A cyberbully denigrates a victim by sending, posting, or publishing false information online about the individual. Denigration usually consists of cruel rumors and gossip about a victim.
xi. Impersonation
A cyberbully can impersonate a victim by posting comments on social media and chat rooms in the individual’s name. Doing so can cause a victim to experience backlash from others based on the bully’s online comments.
xii. Trickery
A cyberbully can befriend a victim, to the point where the targeted individual feels comfortable sharing secrets and other sensitive information. The bully then publicly releases the information the victim shares to humiliate, shame, or otherwise harm them.
xiii. Fake Profiles
Cyberbullies can set up fake online profiles on behalf of victims. They can use these profiles to publish false content in their victims’ names without the victims’ consent.
xiv. Catfishing
With catfishing, a cyberbully exploits a victim’s emotions. A cyberbully attempting to catfish a victim creates a fake online identity and pretends to be someone else. The bully can then engage with a victim using this false identity and build an online romance. Over time, the victim may trust the online user and share sensitive information with the individual. Then, the cyberbully can use this information to embarrass the victim and damage their reputation or expose them.

Have you ever been a victim or perpetrator of Cyber bullying?
Yes, I have once been a victim of Cyber Bullying and it is really annoying and painful anytime it crosses my mind. Then in school, my room mate used my phone to download porn and still didn't delete it from my phone. I never knew there was porn on my phone until someone who wanted to send movie from my phone saw it and that was how news began to spread that i download and watch pornography on my phone. Though it has been a while since this incident but I still feel bad about it because it has in a way spoilt my reputation
HOW DID THIS ENCOUNTER AFFECT THIS SAID PERSON?
It really affect me, it affected the way I relate to people. Sometimes when I pass by people I could see them gossip and whisper right in front of me and I know it's exactly about the pornography incident they are talking about and so most times I'll rather prefer staying indoors than going out and from that point I stopped giving my phone out to people I also
added a password to my phone
HOW SAFE DO YOU FEEL ON STEEMIT? AND HAVE YOU EVER FELT BULLIED AT ANY POINT IN TIME? (ON STEEMIT)
I feel very save here on STEEMIT because so far I've not seen any one being bullied here. Most times here on STEEMIT, people only give compliment to good article and quality posts and on the other way round will advice and guide you through when you're not doing it right. I have never felt bullied at any point in time here so I feel safe here.
WHAT LESSONS DID YOU GAIN FROM SUCH A SCENARIO? AND WHAT ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO YOUR AUDIENCE?
What happened to me really taught me a good lesson that I can't forget
Firstly; it taught me never to trust anyone, there's this saying that say "trust whom you know, and you don't know a soul except the one you own". People can blackmail you no matter how close they are to you so we really need to be careful
Secondly; It taught me that no matter how good you are, bad things can still happen to you. This is reality, no matter how good one can be misfortune can come at anytime but most importantly, it shouldn't weigh us down
Thirdly; It also taught me to be very selective when picking friends and people that should close to me. We should always take note of the kind of people we stay with. It should be birds of the same feathers flocking together and not of different feathers
Cyber Bullying is something that has affected so many people online so that need to fight against it is very important. Cyber Bullying can cause lower self-esteem and even sucidal idea especially among teenagers and so the need to educate our young once about it is very necessary so that those guilty of it would know the danger behind it and stop, also the victims would know it not the end of the world and not be weighed down.
I look forward and hope that together we'll make the world a better place. On this note I'll like to invite my Steemian friends @ishayachris @edidiongeffiong @samuelebuka and any body else to Join this contest
Thank you all for reading through, see you at the top💪
You are right, trust is really a big issue and can not be given to anyone just like that. Well for me the best thing is to allow the authorities know about the incident and allow them do what they do best. Thank you for your encouragement.
