Hello guys, good morning to all of you. I come today bearing a sensitive topic. Sexual Purity is a topic highly debated in our society. As the years and decade push forward it's been filtered to fit recent times. So I am going to be explaining some misconceptions about sexual purity.
Sexual Purity has had many misconceptions as the years go by. According to the bible, sexual purity is simply keeping yourself from all sexual activities till you are married. But as religion started being filtered, and people believe less, many have added their own concepts of purity so that they can look forward to the benefits of the culture.
In recent days, many preachers used attached sexual purity as a way of reducing or ending pornography, sexually transmitted diseases, teenage pregnancies and abortions. Like I said to fight these things, some ideas which aren't accurate have been attached to the preachings.
Sexual Purity Misconceptions
1) Virginity Guarantees a Happy Marriage
Everyone always imagines getting married and being with this wonderful person that they will spend the rest of their lives with. Sexual Purity does that guarantee that your marriage will be as successful as you imagined. Being a virgin doesn't determine how your partner will treat you because marriage is not a reward for those who keep themselves.
For me I think the only thing that virginity guarantees is a healthy and safe sex life in your marriage.
Sexual Purity just shows your love for your future spouse and more over you honor God's word through it.
2) Sexual Purity does not make You more Desirable
All this boils back to the notion that marriage is a reward to virginity. Nevertheless your sexual history will affect your marriage some way somehow positively or negatively.
Hence sexual purity or non purity will affect your marriage unless you pursue the purity of Christ.
3) Purity is Only for Girls
Most women always protest to the unfairness that only women should abstain from sex before marriage or the fact the women don't abstain is what causes men to sin. Some men claim they were lustful towards women who didn't dress all covered up, which caused them to approach them to be interested in the women just for that fact.
Mathew 15: 19-20 says
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person. But to eat with unwashed hands does not defile anyone.”
Matthew 15:19-20 ESV
Nevertheless this doesn't counter the fact that women should dress responsibly and they should cover up. It doesn't mean revealing dresses doesn't stir up sexual temptation and lust. But the bible doesn't blame a woman for a man's sexual sin because the idea or thought of immortality first comes from within him.
Above are a few misconceptions when it's comes to the aspect of virginity. Hope you like it. In the next edition of this topic, I will be talking about how the bible views sexual purity.

A perfect write up there @wase1234 sexual purity is the best not only for your spouse but also for yourself but some believe it is a gurrantee for a succesful marriage as you said but I don't think so a prostitute along the street can make a good marriage and vise versa a succesful marriage is base on your vision about that marriage as I know my own love is the base but knowledge count best

Let me start by appreciating you for putting this message out here at this moment where many of our youths are victims of all kinds of sexual immoral behaviors.
I will like to address the highlighted point above. I want to say that a woman can cause a man to sin as well as a man can cause a woman to fall..it's very possible and even the Bible says we shouldn't be the reason why another person will fall in sin. So as a lady or a man dressing decently Is very important because not covering up properly can cause another to fall and that's sin to both the seducer and the victim.. please let's beware.

I've read through all your post and i must confess it's well articulated, but...
I see some stuff which need to be looked upon and thought again.
Beyond what we see are things we ought to see but we don't see. Actually, both parties are at fault and this scripture shows it all very clearly. Just the fact that the lady dresses irresponsibly tells us that her actions spring up from her heart and that's also immoral. Now the man in turn sees it and it arouses him which makes him have immoral thoughts.
You can't place meat Infront of a dog and the master isn't around and you stop that dog from feeding with that meat. So far as we are in this world, our thoughts are alienated if we don't have the willingness and understanding to understand unseen things.
Practical example, a little boy of 4 years old sees a nude picture and is sexually aroused to the point where his penis becomes erect. Now tell me, is that lil man not supposed to be innocent? Then how on earth can he premeditate that kinda thought if the lady didn't show off her assets?.
Well I'll end here today😅 sexual purity is a vast subject. And needs adequate knowledge to decipher what it really is
