Growing up with a passion for entertainment has been an incredible journey, albeit a challenging one. Life wasn’t always fair, and I soon learned that perseverance is key. As a young teenager in my third year of school, I found myself exploring various activities, desperately searching for my purpose .My first venture led me into hacking. It was exhilarating initially, but reality soon hit. I remember waking up at 6 AM to sell pastries on the street, trying my best to put food on the table and cover some basic school expenses. The experience was tough, filled with ups and downs. I often questioned how long I could sustain this lifestyle and whether it would bring me satisfaction. Eventually, I decided to stop hocking pastries and redirected my focus. Being a lover of entertainment, particularly music and dance, I ventured into that realm. The response was overwhelming; people noticed my talent, inviting me to perform at various programs. However, I gradually shifted my focus from dancing to singing, specifically Gospel music. For a time, everything seemed to fall into place. Yet, as time went on, I realized that I craved more knowledge and new skills to grow. My curiosity led me to the tech field, where I learned graphic design, video editing, and Word Press site building. Getting paid for my designs was a turning point; it felt like I had truly arrived! But as is often the case, complacency is the enemy of growth. I understood that I needed to continue learning. Fast forward to university life—it was a whole new world filled with its own challenges. Money was tight, making it difficult to cover school fees and transportation. Despite these challenges, I kept pushing forward. I was studying Communication and Development Studies, and this brought me to the journalism field, which ignited a new passion within me. The world of journalism is fascinating, especially for those who have an affinity for storytelling. I started writing for blogs, newspapers, and even involved myself in radio broadcasting. The excitement of journalism continued to grow, eventually leading me to embrace blogging as an extension of my journalistic endeavors. Throughout the years, while the path has been rocky, it has been incredibly fulfilling. One valuable lesson I’ve learned is the importance of sticking to what you love, no matter how challenging the road may be. To my fellow youth seeking their passions: keep pushing, keep trying new things, and don’t be discouraged. Your journey may be difficult, but I believe you will eventually find your path. To those who have already discovered their passion, let’s remember that everyone’s journey is unique. We should support one another as we all work towards our dreams.
