It was the summer of 2018 and I had just returned to the U.S. from a 6 month journey to India. While there I studied Iyengar Yoga with some really great teachers, enjoyed the foothills of the Himalayas and the beaches of Karnataka, and in the process met my partner who I am now building a life with.
I was living with her in a small RV in my parents driveway while showing her some of the US and trying to find a way to support ourselves working online so we could travel for a while. Still working on that but we have been lucky enough to do a fair bit of traveling, though not exactly in luxury class accommodations.
This was my first real exploration into live looping using an app called “Loopy” that I really like and it really got me excited. It took about 2 days to write, rehearse and record and I’m still really happy with the outcome.
The hardest part was keeping the time down. I had actually hoped to get it under 10 minutes but this is the best I could do. The first take was over 20 if I remember correctly... Using pedals would streamline the process but that will have to wait.
