I could use your help! If you use a different song or idea to remember something I'd like to know about it. Also, if you have a different name for these scales I'd like to know about it.

In this video I use pictures and relate them to sound. It's synthesia! The mixing of senses! Remember, you can slow down or stop the video by clicking on the gear by the playback bar.

(A. K. A. the Stravinsky scale used in the "Rite of Spring". A symmetrical scale, used for improvising over diminished chords, Used in metal a lot, invert the half and whole steps and you wind up with the other diminished scale.)

(A Greek Mode, A jazzy jam scale, A less sad minor, a minor scale with just a regular 6)

Mixolydian: Honkey Tonk Piano
(Honkey Tonk Piano because a dominant 7th chord is embedded inside this scale and so you use this scale to improvise over dominant 7th chords, major but with a b7)
