Why we need change

For starters, our existing system of government has British colonial roots. That alone merits a second look at the entire system. Also, it was conceived so long ago, before light bulbs were a thing, that it just makes sense we at least consider a few changes to fit with the times.

Trust needs to be fixed. Most people don't trust the government and most interactions with its agents are unpleasant (not to say traumatizing). It doesn't matter who is voted in, Liberal or PC, Federal or Provincial - we have no way of recall; there's no way to "fire" them. They always forget about the people that didn't vote for them, they sometimes forget about the people the did vote for them, and somehow their friends and family get richer in the process. The current systems of government are rigged to steal money from people and transfer that wealth to select few, so it seems there is great hate and animosity towards the "tax man". It is hard to trust the system when it is run by a bunch of crooks.

It is time we engineer the future, instead of letting it catch us by surprise. We are putting out fires, getting distracted from bigger problems, like climate change, job automation, population growth combined with mass migration, human trafficking and so many more real problems. Instead of politicians, we need scientists and engineers and educated people to reach better decisions for the sake of all of us.
