Three trucks got stuck on the playa at Bombay Beach at the Salton Sea. Recovery effort took a few hours, but was successful. The final truck ended up having to be winched out.
The ground here is no ordinary mud - it's clay and kind of like quicksand. If you don't stay on the established dirt roads, you will very likely get stuck.
