A rangefinder is a crucial part of any active hunters tool kit. Most archers practice with their bow by target shooting at specific distances. Because an arrow flies at a much lower velocity than a bullet, it has a much more dynamic trajectory. A typical bow will have a sight with multiple pins for aiming at the target. Each pin is adjusted for a different distance usually in increments of ten or twenty yards. A rangefinder allows you to replicate an accurate distance reading while in the field. If a hunter knows exactly how far away the game is, then they will be able to select the correct sight pin and make and accurate shot. This video contains a quick snapshot of a budget rangefinder made by TideWe. This rangefinder is sub $70 and can measure distances of up to 700 meters. The unit has a built in rechargeable lithium battery, an ocular focus knob, lanyard, charging cord, and silent soft case. This is a great alternative to some of the more expensive brands.
