Here's a blast from the past. A jam on my cigar box guitar the second day I had it. This was also my first ever music video I made a couple years ago. This was before I had a better microphone setup so the audio was just recorded via my Sony Handycam then adjusted a bit in Adobe Audition to remove a bit of room noise. Overall the camera microphone kind of distorts things a bit and seemed to add a bit of jangly chime. Eventually I upgraded to a Zoom H6 which has better audio recording capabilities.
As for the cigar box guitar it reminds me of a mix between an Irish bouzouki and a baglama saz. Some of the interesting features of this guitar include shotgun shell volume and tone control knobs and a strange humbucker pickup that adds a slight spring reverb effect when played acoustically. The neck is nice and round so it fits comfortably in the hand. The action is a bit high just enough to play slide on it as well. Fretting it isn't too difficult as the string guage is pretty light. I have it tuned gdg in this video. Its always interesting to see how much improvement can be done over time.
Thanks for listening :-)
