- “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?
- The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, Against the LORD and against His Anointed, saying.”
Psalm 2:1-2
• "Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His seep displeasure" (Psalm 2:5).
- God will deal with those that are against you and the work: "since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation [afflictions] those who trouble you" (2 Thessalonians 1:8).
GOD will speak to them in His wrath Or anger, and terrify them in His deep displeasure—His fury (Psalm 2:5).
• "Yet I have set My king on My holy hill of Zion" (Psalm 2:6).
God has established the kingdom of Jesus Christ.
• "The Lord has said to Me, You are My son, today I have begotten You" (Psalm 2:7).
David the writer of this psalm was not referring to himself here but to the Lord Jesus Christ.
- “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
- And we heard this voice which came from heaven when we were with Him on the holy mountain
- And so we have the prophetic word confirmed…
- knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation,
- for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
2 Peter 1:17-21 (NKJV)
- The prophetic word in Psalm 2 through King David was not by human Will, but by the move of the Holy Spirit.
THE psalmist himself might not fully understand what he put down, however, it was God’s Word.
EVERY prophecy concerning your life and ministry will surely come to pass in Jesus’ name. - Peter testifies that the prophetic word was confirmed, that they heard the voice that came from heaven when they were with Jesus Christ.
- Let God move you to give prophecy and to fulfil prophecy.
• "Ask of Me, and I will give You the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession" (Psalm 2:8).
- God wanted you to take His Word, the Gospel to the ends of the earth: “…and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8).
- God does want us to ask Him for nations and the ends of the earth for our possession.
- Do not be myopic, short-sighted, you have to believe God for a world-wide ministry, do not die a local champion.
WHATEVER is born of God overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).
IF your vision is born of God, then the whole earth is for your possession.
• Note: You need to ask God in prayer.
- Know that it is His will to give you but you still need to ask in prevailing prayers.
- You displace and dislodge powers sitting on nations of the earth that would not want you to possess what belongs to you, in the place of prayer.
• "You shall break them with a rod of Iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel" (Psalm 2:9).
- God has given you the mandate to break the nations, forces of darkness, with the rod of Iron and dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.
THE prophecy is about Jesus, but Christ has given us the power to do that.
- “And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—
- ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’—as I also have received from My Father;”
Revelation 2:26,27 (NKJV)
- If you overcome and keep the work to the end, you rule and reign with Christ in His Kingdom.
- What the Father has given Him, that He has given us, but we must keep the good work, the truth we know and the assignment of taking the Gospel to the nations of the world—end of the earth: “…as I also have received from My Father” (Revelation 2:27).
- We are on planet earth to occupy for Him till He comes.
WE reign and rule with Him and establish His kingdom on earth till He comes. - If you do this till the end you will have power over nations in His millennium "And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nation" (Revelation 2:26).
- You will rule with Him, you will not be found wanting in His Kingdom in Jesus' name.
• "Be wise O kings, be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear [reverence], and rejoice with trembling" (Psalm 2:10,11).
- The call for the rulers and leaders in the world to receive instructions, listen to warnings and learn lessons, that if they serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling, they are treading the path of wisdom.
- If they fail to receive instruction, embrace discipline, His anger or wrath will be kindled and they would perish—die.
• "Those who put their trust in God shall be blessed" (Psalm 2:12).
DO you trust Him to accomplish all He has spoken concerning your life and ministry?
DO you serve Him with reverential fear and trembling?
ARE you faithful in your God-given assignment?
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
