"Therefore,... I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision."
Acts 26:19 (NKJV)

• Receiving Instructions

  • If your fellowship or communion with God is sound and strong, receiving instructions, directions, for your work would not be difficult.
  • Take note:
~ Going to God only when you needed a direction or a message to preach would not be good enough.
~ You have to cultivate the habit of letting God be a part of everything you wanted to do in your life.
~ God is interested in you and everything about you, than the work you do for Him.
~ The major mistake of many ministers is, they are interested in the work, Ministry assignment, than God.
~ Let God be part of your everyday life. When you are eating, let Him be a part, when you are washing, bathing, playing, on a journey, in your leisure, in the family affairs, and whatever—converse and dialogue with Him in whatever you are doing.
~ If you failed to make God part of your daily activities and you want to go to Him alone when you are in need, when you are confused, when you need a way out, you may not see Him—He may not be available (Proverbs 1:24,28).
~ Bring God into your daily affairs. Let Him direct or instruct on whatever to do for the day.
~ Acknowledge Him in whatever you want to do. Be sensitive to Him and be conscious of Him
~ Tell Him about everything you want to do and ask Him about everything you want to do.
~ Receive His approval on all you want to do, even on minutest or smallest matters.

• Truth: When you practice the above highlighted points, you find it easy to receive direction from God.

  • God does not want you to treat Him as a robot that you will just jump ON to perform a task whenever you needed Him and abandoned When you feel you do not.
~ He wants to be right at the centre of your life.In fact, He wants to take the lead and YOU following, He wants to dictate the pace of all things.
~ That does not suspend your reasonings, thoughts, but you have to bring whatever you are thinking or planning to do to Him: asking Him whether to do it or not.
~ Some thoughts or ideas might be good, but they may not be His plan for you: "THERE IS A WAY THAT SEEMS RIGHT TO A MAN, BUT ITS END IS THE WAY OF DEATH" (Proverbs 14:12).
~ At times, you may have good thoughts and plans and think they will work out well if you attempted to do them.
~ If you take them to God for an approval, He may disapprove them with the reasons known to Him which may not be known to you at the time. He may choose to tell you the reason why He has disapproved what you proposed to do at that same time, or may tell you in the future, or may not tell you at all.
~ You receive directions in the place of fellowship: "A man's heart plans his way, BUT THE LORD DIRECTS HIS [her] STEPS" (Proverbs 16:9).

• Note: In the work of ministry, you do not assume. Avoid guess work, a good idea is not God’s idea.

  • David borrowed the Philistine's idea in carrying the ark of covenant, thus Uzza died as a result (1 Samuel 6:1-21; I Chronicles 13:7-10).
  • It was the act of David that led to the death of Uzza, not God, because the ark of covenant was not supposed to be carried with a cart—It has to be carried by the Priests (1 chronicles 15:13).
  • If you borrowed the idea of the world or some other Minister's, you may pay dearly for it, the experience might be costly.
  • Some use the idea of the people of the world to raise money for the Ministry work.
  • Some use the pattern of Business world to run the Ministry, but it may not succeed.
  • The instructions and the patterns for the assignment should be received from Him.
  • If you are not clear about the instructions He gave to you, wait until you are clear and sure of what said to be done.
  • Do not go ahead of God, it is better to be slow and be Right, than to rush ahead and fall into a pit.

• Singleness of Purpose

  • The Scripture says: "The light of the body is the eye: IF THEREFORE THINE EYE BE SINGLE, THY WHOLE BODY SHALL BE FULL OF LIGHT" (Matthew 6:22).
  • Be focus on your assignment and refuse to compare yourself with anyone: "But they measuring themselves by themselves, AND COMPARING THEMSELVES AMONG THEMSELVES, ARE NOT WISE" (2 Corinthians 10:12).
  • Concentrate on your assignment and face where you are going.

• It is my prayer that you will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • Grace for completion is imparted to you in the mighty name of Jesus.
  • You will not be a disappointment to God and His Kingdom in Jesus name.
    Peace!
