- "Then Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
- AND THE LORD SMELLED A SOOTHING AROMA. THEN THE LORD SAID IN HIS HEART, "I will never again curse the ground for Man's sake, although the imagination [intent or thought] of Man's heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.
- "While the earth remains, SEEDTIME AND HARVEST, cold and heat, winter and summer, and Day and night shall not cease."
Genesis 8:20-22 (NKJV)
• Noah built an altar to the LORD after the flood, and offered burnt offerings on the altar (Genesis 8:20,21).
- When the LORD smelled the soothing aroma of the sacrifice, He purposes in His heart never again to curse the ground for Man's sake, nor destroy every living thing, even though everything they think or imagine is bent towards evil from childhood (Genesis 8:21).
• Through the Study of the Bible, there are things you do to move God, and cause Him to do certain things in your life (Romans 15:4).
- Sacrificial giving is one of the ways to move God to do the unexpected things—rise to help you in the time of need.
- The offerings that Noah offered moved or prompted God to say in His heart that He would no longer curse the ground because of human race, and He would never DESTROY all living things as He had done (Genesis 3:17; 7:4; 8:21).
• Take note:
- When you give to support the work of His Kingdom, it gladdens His heart (Exodus 35:4,5,20,21; 3 John 5-8; Luke 8:1-3).
- It also gladdens God's heart when you give to His ministers, there is a reward for it (1 Corinthians 9:13,14; Philippians 4:14-19; Mark 9:41; Matthew 10:42).
- If you also give to the needy, especially those who are of the household of faith—the needy among the saints—it gladdens His heart (Proverbs 19:17; 2 Corinthians 9:11-13; Galatians 6:9,10).
- In addition, when you witness to others about the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, you tell them about the plan of redemption through Christ Jesus, that God is not mad at them, but He wants them to reconcile to Him through Jesus Christ; it gladdens His heart (Acts 4:12; Romans 4:25; 2 Corinthians 5:18,19).
- Whatever is done for a good or worthy cause, gladdens God's heart, because it is about helping other people (Hebrews 13:15,16).
- Whatever you do that gladdens His heart will move Him to cut a covenant with you: "Then God spoke to Noah and to his son's with him, saying: "As for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you" (Genesis 9:8,9).
- The Noah's sacrifices provoked the covenant God established with Him, his descendants, and with every living creature (Genesis 9:8-17).
• God may demand for something in order to lift you or move you to another level of BLESSINGS, Or higher levels of the anointing needed to function in your assignment.
- You may not need to wait until God demanded for whatever you have: If you have a burden in your heart to make a sacrifice for His work and kingdom, Or for other people in order to help them—you go ahead and do it.
EVEN if the sacrifice does task you, do it anyway, and do not be deterred.
WHEN you have the opportunity to do anything to promote and enlarge the Kingdom of God on earth; Or to help the needy in the household of faith; Or to help the people in general—you should see it as a privilege and not a burden whereby you murmur, OR shy away from it. - What God usually consider in order to move His children up is sacrifice, that is, what you do that moves Him or gladdens His HEART!
- "Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.
- BUT DO NOT FORGET TO DO GOOD AND TO SHARE, FOR WITH SUCH SACRIFICES GOD IS WELL PLEASED."
Hebrews 13:15,16 (NKJV)
• There is a place of FASTING and PRAYER, and that of sacrificial GIVING in your Walk with God.
EVERY spiritual principle and exercise has its place.
YOU cannot do one and neglect to do others.
- If God made a demand that you should do something for His work Or other people, you should consider yourself most fortunate that God wanted to use you FOR such a purpose.
GOD does not really need what you have, If He did make a demand, He just wanted to know your commitment AND loyalty to Him: "12 IF I WERE HUNGRY, I WOULD NOT TELL YOU; FOR THE WORLD IS MINE, AND ALL ITS FULLNESS. 13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, Or drink the blood of goats?" (Psalm 50:12,13 NKJV). - God would want to know who reigns in your life, WHO occupies the throne of your heart, whether the thing HE asked you to offer or give, OR Him, God, who is the Giver of all you have (Genesis 22:1-3).
- God knows who reigns in a Believer's Life through the attitude and obedience of such a person to sacrificial giving.
WHO reigns Or controls your LIFE is known through your obedience to the instructions given to you by God in every area of your life. - It is almost every believer who wants God to establish a lasting covenant with them, but they are not ready for sacrifices.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
Peace!
