steem is forking, moving to hive, confirms steem failed to market fit.

I mean it had to happen right.

We all knew it was over at the start of march when the roughshod batch of sock puppet witness servers got moved in and the unprecedented action of exchanges to vote with customers funds got actioned — regardless of the notion of hackers or otherwise, it was the death of the steem eco (ego?) system at the time and made me take a few weeks away from the drama and the megalomaniac power plays.

So yeah, now we have hive, I like the ring of it, it’s got a snappy sound which I like a lot, the hive, the hivemind, a group of people like little worker bees all collected together maintaining their queen ;) (is that crimmy?)

Of course it’s a hard fork away from what was and while I’m sure the community of investors who have a lot to lose feel it’s a better move for themselves and decentralisation as a whole I expect we will see this all over again.

I’m hoping not thou.

Will I use it? Sure, if it’s decentralised and immutable why the heck not, if I already have an account there and a balance, great, another little distraction while we are locked away at home, might as well be building up some virtual balances in something eh while we are here still breathing! :)

Of course it’s gonna be interesting to see what happens to steem after this and I’m always gonna be wondering if a blockchain network owned my males and anarchists can really ever be something that the general public will invest in — maybe they should be just happy with the exclusive 300 peoples who pray at the temple of compliance and be done with it?

I mean there are literally 5000 blockchains out there in the world, you can pick and choose what you wish, you’ll find some more friendly than others, it’s certainly a time to re-evaluate your time on the steem blockchain after 3/4 years and look at your options.

I’ll be supporting and maintaining my dtube avalon leader server was per usual and I’m more excited than ever now for may and the launch of main net and DTC token for decentralised video hosting — I do hope we get twitter card playback, that would be something I’d love to see happen.

Anyway, stay frosty out there,
Wash ya hands,
See you in the Hive!

one good thing is no one will have 70mil of steem. yes big steem accounts will have a lot of hive but no one will have that crazy amount of them. looks interesting, we will see what will happen.
Liked your thought, hope we will meet here or there again.

I feel this community chains are important for people that are quarantined. it gives you a thing to do and not think about zombies outside the door for a moment.
