A Wooden Show - A Market Friday Contribution

Hello my Steemit friends. It's Friday once again. It's one of my most awaited day of the Week! It's time for the popular #MarketFriday tag hosted by @dswigle. This is an initiative I highly recommend you join or at least know more about. Just click on the link here and have a real cool Hive experience you'll always look forward to.

This week I'm back to my home depot tour, stopping over at their Wood Section, featuring wooden doors, panels and other wood products. The photo below shows their doors for sale and their various designs.

Here's a closer view, showing the price of each wooden door at about 2,500 pesos or 50 US dollars.

The next set of photos show their cabinet door display.

Each of these costs about 850 to a thousand pesos, roughly 20 US dollars.

For those who want 4 x 8 panel products which are used for construction of cabinets, table tops, shelves, computer tables, etc. they have Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) panels, both plain and overlain with a film or veneer of exotic wood such as mahogany, maple, oak and many more.

They cost 2,200 per panel which is 3/4 inch thick.

Some mouldings below, both locally produced (Matwood) and imported (NZ Wood).

Wood products such as these are mostly sourced abroad because of the logging ban imposed by the government. What's allowed to be logged are the plantation species which are not as sturdy compared to those rainforest species which are mostly hardwood. The shortage in wood has resulted in importation from New Zealand (radiata pine), Africa (hardwood) and China (face veneer).

And that ends my post today. It's not as exciting and popular as the food and consumer goods market but still a necessary one, especially for those having their homes built or remodelled. Hope you enjoyed your visit. The weekend is here. May you all have a safe, healthy and blessed one!
