As someone who loves TV and series, this question should have been more complicated to answer, however it was not, here is my favorite program:
Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.
This program is already in its 23rd season, and it is not for nothing, for a program to have been broadcast for so many years and still have future projects in mind means that it has an audience, I faithfully find myself among that audience.
What makes SVU special?
Unlike many crime, detective, police and lawyer programs, this program covers all genres, every aspect, from evidence gathering, study, leads, to trial.
Not only that, it deals with special victims, thus referring to issues of rape or abuse, issues that at the time the program began its broadcast were not very common, talked about or defended.
Well now they are.
SVU shows all the faces of these terrible crimes and their criminals, it shows reality, the true dirt that exists and before which one is pleasantly ignorant, as if it did not exist.
Treat the victims regardless of their condition, their race, their sexual identity, they are all the same and being a man does not exclude being attacked. It shows the shame of being a victim, of saying something, the trauma.
It is a very strong program, with painful but real themes, each episode is unique.
Favorite character?
Without a doubt Rafaél Barba. That man is the man, a lawyer, THE DISTRICT OFFICER, an impeccable man and in search of justice, defender of rights, the face of justice.
He unfortunately no longer forms part of the cast in the current episodes, but his departure was with an epic episode, where he questioned his life, his beliefs and the very legal system for doing what he felt. in his bones it was correct.
Ufff .... Tremendous character, when he stood before the jury and dismayed the defendants it was something that made me tremble.
The best thing about SVU?
There is no doubt that the best thing is that each character advances, they are not static, they change, they grow, their opinions are different but their principles never change.
It shows human reality, it shows us as we are.
