Scribe V2 User Trend Over the Past 30 Days

in hive-196725 •  4 years ago

Scribe was a tool that I released a few months ago. Initially it had just the post history finder feature. Last month I added a new feature called Tag Searcher to make the tool more usable.

Prior to Tag searcher, Scribe was mainly being used by the Mosquito Squisher community to find sneaky plagiarists. Ever since Tag Searcher was added, that has changed drastically. To help me track the users using the tool, I have made use of Google analytics API. Yes, I know that tracking users using a centralized provider is not very decentralized.

However, I wanted a quick integration that would help me see the users and understand their usage. This in turn would help me improve the app.

Release of Tag Searcher

Initially, with only the History viewer, I used to see about 20-50 different searches on the tool. Initially, I thought this was amazing and this led me to make improvements to make the app faster. This all changed when Tag Searcher was added. By change I mean to the better.

Change in Traffic After Tag Searcher:

The usage trend in 30 last

I announced Tag Searcher's release on 21st June 2021 and the very next day I saw 284 different searches on the app. Well, seeing this in the morning made me feel even better. The best part is that I now see active real time users almost every time I check the analytics app on my phone.

The usage of app the last 30 days

Over the past 30 days alone I have had over 3410 searches on the platform and from the data provided by Google Analytics, it seems like majority of the traffic is to the Tag Searcher app. It also seems like the traffic increases during the weekend. This might be attributed to the fact that the professors try and cover as many articles that they can rate during the weekend.

I have also seen users from other countries use the app. This is the first time that I have seen so many diverse users on the app. So, all this makes me even more happy and encourages me to bring out more features on my app.

Possible Changes:

From the looks of it, the income report feature that I had released in January seems to be getting very little traffic. I feel that this is caused because of the different sub domain route that I chose to go with. I am now considering to move the income report and all the other features under a www subdomain instead.

Having all my tools in the same place would definitely make it easier for people to access them. However, I would not be doing this until I finish the design of the new feature that I am working on the income report.

Let me know if you guys want to see any more features on my apps by just leaving a feature request comment down below. If I feel a feature is feasible, then I will surely work on it.

Thanks.

Tag searcher has definitely helped us a lot and we are more organized than ever. The tracking of the posts, users, and curation status is a lot easier now.

Thank you.
