my design work to take part in a Banner Design contest held by the Steem Skillshare Community

Hello Steemian

In this post I will take part in a contest organized by the Steem Skillshare Community mentored by @atim1234 This contest was held a few days ago and I can only take part now, hopefully many steemian will get knowledge and skills from this community which will be useful in the future.

1). The software I use to enter a banner design contest.

I started liking graphic design in high school and due to limited tools I couldn't further hone my graphic design knowledge, one year ago when I already had sufficient facilities, I started to re-learn graphic design starting from the basics and until now I still learning and want to continue to develop skills in this graphic design field.

Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 that i used to create the banner
From the beginning, I studied graphic design I always used applications from Adobe such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. And in this contest, I designed a banner using the Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 application. I think designing a banner in Adobe Illustrator is very suitable because Adobe Illustrator is a vector-based design application. One of the advantages of the Adobe Illustrator CC 2017 application is that it can handle large RAW files, in addition to keeping the application running stably. Adobe Illustrator can handle the existing rendering process without affecting the quality of the RAW rendered. This application is indeed optimized for high-end use where the need for high-quality processing and rendering of huge files is needed.

2). The design process that I did while participating in this contest.

  • The first step that must be done is to open the Adobe Illustrator application, then after the application is open select the New menu to create a new project.

  • Then set the canvas size, here I use 1000x1000 Pixel size.

  • I used the Pen Tool to draw shaped objects.

  • Then after the object is finished forming, I start to determine the colour of the object and there are 3 colours that I use.

  • After finishing determining the colour of the object, I placed the Steem Skillshare logo in the upper right corner with a size that is not too large.

  • I drew a Polygon object and I filled it with 100% Free text using Franklin Gothic Heavy font with 54pt size.

  • Then I searched for free source images on the Pexels website and I found one image to place on my banner.

  • Next I create a rectangular object that I will insert text into.

  • I placed the text above the rectangular object, using Roboto Bold font size 23pt.

  • Then I add text above the object using the Freestyle Script font with a size of 150pt.

  • I added the text "Graphic Design" below it using Roboto Black font with a size of 100pt.

  • I added a rectangular object with a different colour under the graphic design text, and I filled it with the words "Set Your Ideas Free" using the Pacifico Regular font with 52pt size.

  • I put the PNG format Steemit Logo that I previously took on the Wikimedia website.

3). The final result of the banner that I made.

Conclusion

I enjoy participating in the banner design contest held by the Steem Skillshare Community, this community provides many benefits to Steemians who want to deepen their skills in the field of graphic design and other areas of expertise offered by teachers in this Steem Skillshare Community. I hope that more Steemit users will join this community because the benefits offered by the Steem Skillshare Community are very useful for us to hone skills according to the fields we like. Contests like this should be held regularly because this will be a place where we can grow even more in the future.

I invite you guys to join this contest @novaamalia @raihanfairuzy @ardifitra @tunjex12 @azkaalqhifari @zahrul24 @ardifitra95.
