Question 1: Explain the definition of a banner in your own words
Answer:
A banner can be defined as a long or large piece of fabric that is used to convey a message by the means of visual art that has flashy or eye catching appearance in order to catch the eye of the viewer.
The size and colours of banners usually depend on the particular message you intend to pass across to the viewers
Question 2: What is the importance of designing a banner? Explain its usages
Answers:
The major importance of designing a banner is that the purpose it is going to serve
Banners can be used for different purposes like;
- Creating designs for decoration purposes
- Passing information across to viewers
- Making designs for advert purposes
Question 3: What preparation will you do before designing a banner?
Answer:
Firstly, the purpose of the banner must be considered. For example, If the banner is intended to advertise a school, you need to create a design that has bright colours and also animations in order to attract the attention of kids and their guardians
Secondly, the space where the banner is to be placed would determine the size
Mostly, a bigger size banner with the right blend of colour tends to attract attention more.
After putting all these into consideration, you can now go ahead to create the banner design of your choice
Question 4: Design a banner using Corel draw
The following images depict my design process used to create my banner
Selected pixels as seen in the design class
Created rectangle using rectangle tool and dimensions given in class
Width - 1920
Height- 1080
Created another rectangle and an ellipse using rectangle and ellipse tool
Using convert to curves , the rectangle was changed as seen above
Rectangle was selected and mirror ised
After Cutting the ellipse and the rectangle was mirrored vertically
Then i imported my design images and did the final editting.
