Colour which is the vivid appearance from juxtaposition of many bright thing is an important component and a very powerful tool when designing graphics. The effects colour produce in Graphic designing cannot be undermined because it plays a major role in attracting the attention of people who come in contact with it, piquing the interest of audience and also making a design beautiful and appealing to the eyes.

Colour can have both negative or positive impact and effect on a graphic design. One's selection can either make or Mar the design making it looks beautiful or less appealing.

Typography to me is simply the usage of correct and actual spelling,right aesthetics,spacing,fonts and proper alignment of words when designing a visual art.

You can as well say that it is the writing mechanism that is exhibited during graphic designing process to make information written on a design(flier, billboard,poster,banner)visible, interesting to read, appealing to the eyes and beautiful and also making information written on a graphic design to be bold and clear to read without any grammatical error.

Typography just like colour is an important and powerful tool in Graphic designing.
Since graphic design is not all about the choice of colours but also about the choice of words,words alignment, writing calligraphy (fonts) and actual spelling,this makes typography a major player in this field.

Explaining typography in my own words without including it characteristics would certainly not be complete,so here are some characteristics of Typography;
i. fonts ii.Alignment iii.Size iii.choice of words and
iv. actual spelling.

RESEARCH 3 MORE FONTS EACH FOR THE FOLLOWING (script,serif,San serif)

•SCRIPTS:script fonts emulates cursive handwriting or calligraphy and can also be a great way of adding original feel to logo.

•SERIF:serif fonts have little feet on the end of each word,making letter or word more sophisticated.This fonts is mostly used in designing for luxury brand.

•SAN SERIF:San serif fonts are letters with smooth edges and they lack feet unlike the serif fonts.

CREATE A SIMPLE DESIGN SHOWING YOU UNDERSTAND THIS LESSON

After going through this lesson,I decided to make some graphic design base on the knowledge compiled in the lesson which is majorly about "Typography and Colour"

Looking at both designs above,you can easily decipher that I made use of alignment in my design,in the first design all words were at the side of the design whereby diverting all the viewer's eyes and attention to the left side of the image.
while the second design was centered,making all attention to be in the middle of the image unlike the first image.
I also made sure to avoid unnecessary and too many words and fonts, use correct and actual spelling,making the design precise and clear to read.
I suppose this is what typography is all about.
I also made use of Colours in my design!

Conclusion

I must must say this lesson assignment has been the hardest so far but it is still the most enjoyable lesson with great insight about graphic design basics🤗.
I must also commend the effort of my amiable GD teacher @lhorgic for the compilation of this wonderful and eye opening lesson that I believe have gone a long way in benefiting we the graphic design students.
