It is true we all have difficulties in our workplace one after the other and at times we find it a bit difficult to handle it due to our imperfections but other times we still try to handle it alright so as to maintain good relationship or intimacy with our clients in case of next time or in cases of referrals.

So what are those ways these difficulties may come and how you can handle it let's check it out together I would like to use my workplace to tell you about myself let me give you a brief story on how my nature of work is all about.

ABOUT MY JOB

I'm a healthcare provider working in a hospital in a pharmacy depart department precisely I work in both hospital setting and community pharmacy setting and so for this reason and exposed to different clients of which I face their nagging attitude at all times.

HOW TO HANDLE A CLIENTS

  • HOSPITAL SETTING
    Once a person is in the hospital he or she is really sick and need some medical attention and they should be given duly attention. But once you have a queue to dispense drugs , definitely you see nagging that time, so many will abuse you, talk especially when you are working alone so much work load but no matter how angry they will be I never talk back at them.

How I handled them

I always have it at the back of my mind that anyone that comes to hospital for treatment is sick and so he or she needs care, so matter how nagging they be, I never respond harshly, I never feel intimidated by anyone because I need to be careful since I'm dealing with life so as to avoid making mistake when it comes to drugs.

When I do not deliver to them on time

It is obvious that in the world we are living today, so many people lacks patience and it's really wrong because we need patience to live. Now if you don't know how to handle such patients, it will either result in you giving out wrong medication or miss his or her doses which the fault will still bounce back on you. So in this case, I'm always careful too so as not to fall a victim.

What could cause the delay in attaining to my client

  • It could be a very serious emergency that need a quick response than the patient in the queue so you will have to excuse them and attain to the emergency. The patient may not understand and as such will start quarrelling you for leaving him behind to attain to another person.

How I handled this scene

Instead of talking back or trying to explain, I quickly apologize for Keeping him waiting, because talking back will increase his anger and create more scene in the facility. It will be like adding fuel to a fire, so I like saying something like "oh!! I'm really sorry for keeping you waiting, I will attain to you now, you will soon go don't worry" very simple and he will be calm and take his medications.

So patient work load can cause you to give wrong medication or do any other mistake and once you do any mistake, it can cause life Therefore I don't let in to their nagging or anger.

Qualities that is needed in order to handle a nagging clients

  • Apologize; you apologize for both when you make mistake, and it's your fault and when you don't even have any fault.

  • Respect; no matter what happens, you remain calm and respect all your clients, without them, you wouldn't have been there so giving them due respect is needed.

  • Tolerance;this is needed in order to ensure all nagging and aggressive clients,

  • Friendly; you need to have a smiling face to help your clients relax and feel comfortable with you to express his or herself at ease with you, being friendly will also help any nagging person to control his or her nagging attitude.

  • Patience; it is needed in all place of job, you have to be patient with a client who does not have a waiting attitude to maintain a calm atmosphere.

Conclusion

Displaying good qualities at work place is very good, therefore we should endeavour to develop this good qualities to help control aggressive clients. Remember, without your clients, you will not have your job, you won't even work there, no market, no sales, no money.
