To Be A Great Leader, What Should You Do?
I listened to a Youtube video today about Nelson Mandela. He's known thoughout the world as a great leader. A journalist asked him one day, "What makes you a great leader?" Nelson was the son of a tribal chief and he said that when he was a little boy, he would go to the tribal meetings with his Dad. Everyone would sit in a circle and the tribal chief would always be the last to speak. He was the most senior person in the room and he was always the last to speak.
Nelson Mandela followed this same example.
Be The Last To Speak
You can apply this if you are a leader at work, a parent, a son/daughter, a teacher etc. Practice listening and get better at it. Make people you are communicating with feel like their opinion matters.
This is what will make you:
- a great leader
- a great parent
- a great son/daughter
- a great teacher etc.
Thanks for your tips so successful, it is good to listen, so we understand better what they are trying to convey, and therefore we can also transmit a good message.
Greetings!
