How To Make Spaghetti Carbonara
Ingredients 4 oz bacon, chopped.
2Two cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup onion, diced
1/2 lb spaghetti
One egg yolk
freshly grated nutmeg to taste
salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Method 1. Cook the bacon and drain, reserving two tablespoons of the drippings in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add garlic and onion to the skillet; cook over medium-low heat until softened.
Meanwhile, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions.
Drain, but do not rinse.
Return pasta to its cooking pot, place over low heat, add reserved bacon drippings, garlic/onion mixture, egg yolk, nutmeg, salt, and pepper; toss to mix thoroughly.s
Add cheese and toss again.n
Serve immediately.
it serves 4 to 6 people.

Note:
Instead of plain garlic and onion, you may saute two teaspoons of your favorite dried herbs or substitute one teaspoon Italian seasoning for the garlic and onion before adding the cheese at the end of cooking are evenly distributed throughout the dish.
