This is the dilemma facing the four grown Delaney siblings, when their mother Joy goes missing after sending a strange message to each one of them.
My first Liane Moriarty book, which Bookstagram made me read.
The plot is well narrated across two timelines to highlight the family relationships and events. One is the present where Joy is missing and the police have their suspicions that her husband, Stan might have something to do with her disappearance.
And the other narrated through each siblingsโ flashbacks, focuses on the events in the previous year where a mysterious young woman named Savannah knocks on Stan and Joyโs door, and the Delaneys were more than happy to give her the small kindness she sorely needs.
This was definitely a book filled with family drama all throughout. There are so many characters that each chapter brings out a new secret or story about the family.
Apart from that, the minute Savannah is introduced to the plot, you find it difficult to keep the book down because it adds the extra urge to find out who is she and what is her involvement in all this?
The ending was definitely shock for me, coz it was one outcome that I definitely wouldnโt have predicted. But, it did actually tie up everything together in a nice way.
