Cricket Is Known as "The Game of Gentlemen". And it was born in Gentlemen's Country, England. But was it Gentle? Actually It was not. If you look back of the Proud History of Cricket, There are so many Black Patches which can never forget.

We are living in a World where Color of the Skin Consider as a Plus Point. Still, Racism is everywhere. I mean Even in Buckingham Palace. You know what I mean. So even In Cricket was Severely Affected by Racism. I know many of Contestants may have written about Winning moments and such things. But I wanna do Something Different.

When we talk about Cricket in 60's, 70's and 80's We can't forget about The West Indies Cricket Team. They were called as "Calypso Team". When they lose, headlines on papers were like "Calypso Collapsed Again". Playing with England is so Important for Windies because England was considered as The Masters of Windies.

Last Edition of Wisden Trophy was held in 2020

In 1976, "The Wisden Trophy" was held in England. Windies came for England for 3 ODIs and 5 Test Matches. Clive Lloyd was the Captain for Windies. Tony Greig was the Captain for England.

The Racism was Rising in England. The situation was all normal until Tony Greig 's Racist Slur. He said "We'll make them Grovel" for Windies. He said the Word " Grovel" twice. I Couldn't Believe.. Tony Greig, the Greatest Commentator had a Bad History. This Quote by Greig made Windies Team Angry. Many Players took this Personally. I think Tony Greig just wanted to Cheer Up the England team. But it went Sideways.

When the series started, Windies Fast Bowlers were Furious. Specially Andy Roberts And Michael Holding aka "Whispering Death". Many English Batsmen were hurt. Bruises Everywhere. Windies Batsmen were hurt too.

Talking about batting, Viv Richards Batted Great Innings throughout the 5 Match Series Scoring 829 Runs. Michael Holding took 28 Wickets. All credits of the series went to Windies.

This series was a turning point for West Indies. After this series, they worked on Their Fitness and Fielding. Then they won their Second World Cup in 1979. But Always, their Favorite Opponent was England. In 1984, Wisden Trophy Series was held in England and Windies Black-washed the Series 5-0. Windies is the only team to do Against England at their own soil.

These things happened Decades Ago. It's hard to know True Story behind this. But there is a Documentary Movie named "Fire In Babylon". That movie covers the whole story of the Rise Of Windies from 1960's.

Power of words.. Enormous isn't it? Windies had no Deadly plan Against England but that Words of Tony Greig was harsh. I couldn't Believe.. But its not Surprising even Buckingham Palace has Racism inside. This is 2021. Still, people fighting because of Skin Color. Sports can show an Example for the world. But I think Even Sports also were unable to deal with Racism yet..
