Scientists explore the underwater pit, bewildered by what they find inside

This great water hole was previously described by geologists and now scientists have finally explored this natural monument located in the Great Coral Girdle.
The Blue Hole lies about 120 miles from Daydream Island, on the north-eastern coast of Australia.

What was known first about this hole was the presence of many corals in the area, but there was the home of a healthy coral colony.

Johnny Gaskell, a marine biologist from Australia, scattered the wonderful Blue Wave footage on Instagram.

He wrote: "The diver's team has explored a little more than 20 feet (65 feet) down the blue hole before colliding with bare and steep slopes leading to the center. It was wonderful to see large colonies of healthy corals.

The discovery of healthy corals in the blue hole can come as a surprise to experts after the wide coral revelation of the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef corals have undergone two consecutive whitening blows in 2016 and early this year, raising concerns about the survival of corals, which are disappearing from global warming.
