Packing for a LUXURIOUS holiday!

So here I am just days before our flight to St Lucia and I still haven’t packed. And yes you’ve guessed it, I’m really starting to panic now!

We are flying out on Thurs 18th Jan and it is now Sun 14th Jan (evening)

I said to myself that I didn’t want to leave anything till the last minute like I usually do, as I want this holiday to be totally relaxed from start to finish! HA!

So far I am as prepared as; have bought everything we need, written a list of what to pack, suitcases are at the ready to be filled and we have already checked in online. Not so bad eh?!

Why St Lucia?

Firstly, why not St Lucia. I’ll answer: because we are a new family of three with a young baby approaching his first birthday and this is not a cheap holiday. HOWEVER last December, my lovely Brother and his Fiancé invited us to their wedding, which happened to be taking place in the beautiful St Lucia, so it would be rude not to go wouldn’t it? :-P

Even though we had already made plans to go on a couple of cheap, Europe holidays before I returned back to work from Maternity leave, St Lucia was definitely not within our price range or even on our top 10 list! But luckily, as we worked it out, we were actually able to attend, regardless of already having two holidays in our plans. Lucky them! Sorry, lucky us ;-)
But joking aside, who wouldn’t do all they can to go to their Brother’s wedding – after all, I also would like to get married abroad, so I do understand the importance of wanting your nearest and dearest there with you on your big special day.

Surely packing isn’t that difficult?

Nope, I didn’t think it would be either, but now that I am not just packing for myself, but for a little person too, it makes things that little more important, time consuming, stressful, worrying and eventually, tiring! Not to forget that he will probably want to help pack, or even unpack his case whilst I am trying to do so! (Nosey 11 month old, into EVERYTHING!)

As we have already been lucky enough to travel abroad twice since Torey has been born, I have the bonus and head start in knowing what I should and shouldn’t pack. However, as Torey is now a different age, he requires more luggage e.g toys, bigger nappies, bigger clothes, shoes, baby wipes. So now, packing seems a little more difficult. I have questioned myself about the 8.5 hour flight; does he need pyjamas, extra toys to keep him entertained, more nappies, change of clothes in case of spillages or accidents, snacks, water – so many things, as now, unfortunately my breastmilk just won’t answer all Torey’s needs anymore (only some - booo!)

My List…

I want to share my list with you guys and please, if there is anything I have missed, feel free to drop a comment below to help me along the way, when I’ve had no sleep, keeping my eyes open with cocktail sticks the night before the flight, finishing packing our cases

packed 25 just to be on the safe side"

Let the excitement begin!

As much as I am going crazy, I am actually really looking forward to this holiday - two weeks in a 5* Hotel in the blazing sun, with family, yes please!

Thank you for checking out my post, I will definitely keep you updated on my progress! Wish me luck!
