Be the change!
Don't just talk about it...
When I had my accident falling off a roof 20 ft. onto concrete in 2007, I had not, luckily; been trapped in the medical or legal systems prior to this.
Lloyd's of London being the insurance carrier; my client told me his Workers Comp policy would take care of me.
First, they took advantage of me not knowing the system.
I kept asking for neurological assessment as my head did hit the concrete stairs I landed on, I did break my pelvis, thumbs, and shattered my right elbow; and I was feeling patches of paralysis in several areas of my body.
However, the only thing I was authorized to recieve were pain killer drugs.
As a shaman, I don't drink alcohol, and I do not take pharmaceuticals...
Once it became clear I was being taken advantage of, I sought an attorney.
5 attorney's told me that because they did not get my case from the beginning, to steer it correctly; and because there is no money in representing under WC, no one would take my case.
And so, untreated, in chronic pain, with my 133 IQ, I took them on myself. NOT EASY OR FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!
It took me 6 years of fighting them to be properly assessed, and to receive the HOLISTIC treatment I continually demanded.
Expressing point blank that I did not want to be forced to be a drug addict because they did not want to spend the money to actually treat me.
I was shamed, treated like a dishonest person trying to use the system; called a faker...my injuries were "in my head" said their attorney.
I went through 3 of their attorneys, one of whom worked very hard to try to get me to kill myself...she even put it in an email.
You'd think a Lloyd's of London attorney would be smarter than that...
but apparently not.
Each hearing you get a new judge who knows squat about your case, and if it weren't for one amazing judge who put himself out to attach himself to my case, and helped me steer it to settlement, I'd probably still be in litigation.
You see, I was not going with the program, where all medical is a support system of medical industry...
NOT there to heal you at all, just there to perpetuate procedures that benefit them and keep you as their parasitical victim in PERPETUDE!
Once it became clear to me, the injustice that was rampant, I had to throw myself into the machine to stand up for those who do not want drugs to mask the pain; who do not want to be forced into multiple surgeries.
And that is exactly what I told them and maintained for 6 years.
My treating doctor since 2013, is who I had initially asked to see in 2007 but they would not pay for; she calls me her "miracle", as she got me 6 years after my accident, and 6 years without physical therapy or treatment of any kind. I just had barely, and finally was able to get the neurology assessment in 2012.
From 2013 to 2016, I worked so hard to get my "body" back; she brought me up from 30% to 80%...amazing! ...and was dancing again!!! (I am a trained dancer and that is how I keep my body in shape).
Point is, we have to fight the system for what we want and for our rights!
Yes, it means up hill battles, however, if we don't stand up for ourselves, everyone loses!
