LOS ANGELES, June 21 — It looks like Johnny Depp’s legal woes are far from over after emails of him allegedly mismanaging his finances were shared online.

Depp’s former management firm, The Management Group, shared emails between them and him discussing his financial situation as part of their ongoing legal battle where Depp is seeking more than US$28 million (RM120 million) over allegations of fraud and mismanagement.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the email exchange took place in December 2009 and it indicates that Depp was aware of the crippling state of his finances.

In the email, Depp’s business manager Joel Mandel urged the star to “take it easy” on his spending during Christmas and wanted to set up a meeting where they could figure out a financial plan.

Depp responded by saying: “I am doing my very best on holiday spending, but there is only so much I can do, as I need to give my kiddies and families as good a Christmas as possible, obviously within reason.”
The star claims TMG mishandled his finances over the 17 years they represented him, however TMG rejects this and struck back by extensively detailing what they claim was the Pirates of the Caribbean star's 'ultra-extravagant' more than $US2 million a month lifestyle and his struggles to pay back loans.

When faced with the prospect of having to take a commercial flight rather than a private jet Depp allegedly responded in an email: 'A commercial flight with paparazzi in tow would be a fg nightmare of monumental proportions.' image
